Charlie's camp was bigger than I had expected, it was about the size of a large kids football field. The entrance consisted of two glass doors with barricades beside them on the inside and the outside.
"Is this an old Tesco's or something?" I walked further on.
He pointed towards the roof. 'Aldi' it read in small blue letters. Well, it actually said Al i, because half the 'd' was gone.
"Ah."
The glass walls were barricaded with old sofas, tins and pretty much anything that contained some figure of strength.
Inside, it was actually quite nice. The lights were on as the electric had not been affected and there was a TV, table and chairs, food cupboards, a PS4, a pool table and a big empty area which I didn't know what was for.
"Yeah, it's pretty sick innit though, you got to admit. And from now on, we call this our Safe Place."
The first attack came at dark while we were sitting on the best sofa we could find playing some Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Over the loud shooting and bangs,
we heard a loud thump from the main entrance. Charlie dropped the controller and raced next door,
"Shit... Shit... SHIT!" I heard him shout and I ran next door myself as well, and then I saw what he meant. Through the glass we could see silhouettes in the darkness, roaming the car park, and trying their best to get in. There was at least fifty of them, and by 'them'.
I mean zombies.
