Chapter 10 - unsteady.

Moonlight's POV:

Before the brightness can nearly evade the sky, I was at the table with Ariel drinking coffee, with delicious cookies placed on a plate. Then Ariel has decided to break off the silence settled in the air.

"So, who was that guy?" She asked. Chewing on her cookie.

I broadened my eyes. then bit on my parched lips softly. "N-no one."

"Then why did he say earlier, that you were his girlfriend?"

"N-no." I blinked. "He's joking."

"I know," she giggled.

"But.." She continued. "Does he bully you?"

Bully me?

He does, but last time, he hasn't done anything wicked to me, I don't know anymore. And moreover, I shouldn't be admitting what happens between me and him, I forgive him, he is surely a nice person, I don't know about his problems, they might be worse than mine. I'm trying to forgive him even though he's always pasted in my mind. Also, bullying? I'm used to worse. I'm just used to it. I don't care anymore. Not going to blame life for all that occurs to me. It's my fault. My fault for existing.

"No," I answered quietly.

"I see."

"W-why?"

"Um, I just asked, he just seem a little bit dangerous," She giggled, raising a brow, then took a sip from her cup of coffee.

More like dangerously handsome, that's how girls fell for it. That's kind of sad.

As I suddenly remembered about the magical-looking single blossom. I stood up from my seat then headed toward my room. I grabbed my bag, hoping that it didn't get badly wrapped due to the bag's pressure.

Soon, while I grabbed my notebook, I opened it, already showing off the beautiful blossom that still is perfectly fine and its beauty still reigning. I light up with an admired smile on my face. Then I went excitedly to show it to Ariel, she probably will like it.

"H-hey," I tucked it between my palms and revealed it to her, then noticed a half-sneer,half-smirk on her face. "It's a b-blossom." I smiled nervously.

"it's very beautiful," she said. "I wonder where you found that."

"It came to m-me by its own." I slapped my self mentally, she'd probably find it weird and childish, and will not believe me because of my childish behaviors, I should presumably grow up.

She chuckled. "Take care of it, okay? it's like a gift, I think."

I nodded and smiled happily. "I will," I whispered.

A gift. I will consider it as a gift because it does look like a very special one. I curled one last smile, then was about to direct away when Ariel hindered. As you can presumably see, I have the ability to talk more, but only when I'm around Ariel, she crazily helped me to grow a little more comfortable with her.

"Um, Moonlight, dear."

"Y-yes?"

"Wouldn't you mind stargazing together, in the rooftops?" She suggested thoughtfully. A wave of happiness and excitement overflowed me, loving truly her generous proposal. I always went to peer at the stars and the moon when it gets late, but by my own self after the day mom passed away, and after my dad left for his work. They both used to hold me, tightly and fell asleep under their warm arms, while the stars brightly shone on me. I was the only child, and they treated me like a princess. Everything was full of joy and happiness for my family, until destiny decided to take an unexpected turn, and shatter hearts. But besides, the memory that I old with my family, that's why stargazing is an important part of my life.

"Yes!" I answered.

"Amazing!" she exclaimed. "Let me bring a blanket if you ever got cold."

"I...I will do it." I ran to bring it, as fast as I can, see that the excitement took place in me, I'm happy now. I'm just not alone anymore. Then we both left our way to the rooftops. As we stepped in, revealing the familiar view of the large night sky, yet it feels like it's been the first time being caught by the majesty of the plenty of stars that glow through the dusk. Hell, it always made me feel like finally breathing, after a long day of struggling for air.

Woah!" she smil"ed, her extreme blue eyes sparkling under the starlight, she's very beautiful for an ordinary human like her, her beauty must be very special.

"Shall we sit on the blanket?" I nodded. As we both laid the warm blanket on the cold floor, then we sat on it. Our eyes met the large darkened sky but still, it shines on us due to the glimmer and sparks of each star, especially the hominy moon's, but this time, it just looked more magical and absorbing, the stars are many of em now, in fact, I always visited this place each night, moreover, I never noticed the countless amount of stars sparkling effortlessly, as if joy has lastly fulfilled them. The view is too unreal for me to believe that this moment even exists.

"Look!" I turned around to Ariel as soon as she spoke when I saw her pointing at the star that sparkles the most. "This is my friend." She said.

I smiled. "R-really?" she must be like me then, befriending every star my eyes met, and talking with them using the depths of my soul.

"Her name is Evangeline," she chuckled. " She is maybe observing us from up there."

"R-really?" I smiled loudly; I wish they could have been alive, but I still feel that they own souls.

"Yes, and you know, she told me she loves you and cares for you." She sneered at me occurring a red blush in my cheeks. For the first time in forever someone had made me feel loved.

"She knows me?" I laughed quietly.

"She does know you since always." She laughed along.

"Do you know..." She said. I nodded turning around while her eyes riveted up the night sky.

"Each star shines the most for the most favorite person on the earth when they look up to them, especially when they sleep, the stars keep shining more brightly on them."

I narrowed my eyes. "who are they?"

"I don't know." She shrugged. "But what I heard of the myth, they are the blessing of the world, the whole existence."

"Oh, that's...that's a beautiful myth, I wish that person exists," I chuckled.

"I'm not sure though, that myth can be real." She looked at me tracing a simper, as she continued. "But whenever they walk around, the flowers will open happily for their presence, and the sun will glow brightly, and many butterflies will appear in."

I smiled widely. I wanna know more about this myth, it's seems very interesting. Furthermore, I had the urge to ask her about her interests, life, and trying to know her better. I will try and just show off my social side, even though it's literally broken. I finally built a sign of slight courage in me and decided to ask her.

"Do you-" Before my words got cut up by a sudden shiver that came from nowhere.

"W-what is happening." Ariel looked worried before the tremble increased dangerously along with our hearts.

"Oh no." Her eyes widened. This time the earth shook wildly, I could feel every bone of mine freeze while I was screaming. My sight was barely balanced due to the terrible sudden earth shake that caused me to have a crisis. I was crying mess, hell, I felt the urge to die, as my paralyzed body was getting agitated.

"MOONLIGHT," Ariel called me, attempting to hold me. "I'm here o-okay?" She barely could talk due to how unsteady the earth was. After, she won to hold me between her warm arms, which seemed to protect me. Then suddenly, everything went calm the second I was shielded within her walls. My soul went peaceful, my teary eyes that went dry closed, and fallen into a deep sleep.

'What did just happen?" but I couldn't care less, while the darkness evaded my surroundings, I felt like in heaven before I was just in hell a few minutes ago, then the affection and warmness embraced me.
