Doris was e"Karma, I can check for you, but I don't recall Stern Financial having any interest in land in St. Ann. I would know since I am the one who keeps all titles in my vault."
"Are you sure Quido?"
"Let me check."
She watched him take the silver key from his vest pocket and opened the vault that was behind his huge executive chair. Slowly he went through the titles and checked the location and the nature of the lien on each. Karma sighed when he looked at the last title.
"What and why are you asking Karma?" Quido asked.
"I must be confused Quido, but I need to run. I think I left a burner on at home."
She knew it was a silly response, but again she never wanted cause or cast undue suspicions on her husband, but it made matters worse in her head.
"I will see you later Pops and tell Katherine hi when you see her."
