"Skylar, I enjoyed the oxtail and beans, but the rum and raisin ice cream has really pushed me over the top. Wow, please tell the chef that he can cook for me anytime. I was reminded of Sunday dinner back home," Karma said as she tried to use her lips to remove a piece of the oxtail from between her front teeth.
"Chef! Tell him yourself Gustave comes from a long line of classic chefs and his son serves in one of the top restaurants in Paris," Skylar boasted.
Joyce looked at her phone nervously, it had been a few hours since she sent a message to Karma and there were no messages from Karma. She should have landed in Scranton and James Manor in the Catskill Mountains was another two and half hours in light traffic. The location pin she had sent earlier still only had one tick on the phone.
Joyce looked at her watch and checked the time on the phone again.
"What's wrong?" Jason asked.
"Nothing," Joyce responded, and she quickly looked at Skylar.
