Chapter 53 - War Finale

Naesrio laughed as he charged his ultimate attack. "As I've said before, I am the God of Destruction!! Since you all want to get in my way, I'll just wipe this planet from existence!!"

Ryuga had to think quickly. "That's Naesrio's final attack, Black Star. It can destroy large planets easily. I... can't destroy it."

Kyo held out his right hand, he made a Mystic Storm. "Mystic energy is compatible with almost all other energies."

Kuro and Agaki flew over to him. They all held up their hands as Kyo's Mystic Storm went up in the air and got bigger.

The attack began spinning slowly. All three of them were pouring their energy into it.

Kyo looked at Ryuga. "It's our only chance."

Ryuga nodded. He flew over to the attack and poured his energy into it as well. The Storm flew higher into the air as the size grew tremendously. The color turned blue with Ryuga's destruction energy.

It was super large now, but Naesrio's Black Star was bigger. "Idiots!! There's no one in this world who can stop my Black Star!! As the embodiment of destruction, I shall take on the task of obliterating this entire world into ash!!!"

The Black Star grew to a size of five thousand kilometers in diameter. It could be seen across the planet. The entire sky darkened as Naesrio's power eclipsed the sun.

Ryuga scowled. "We still have to try. Now!!" The four of them threw their combination attack at the Black Star. It started eating away at the energy. Just when they thought they had a chance, the energy caught on fire with black flames.

The flames ate away at the Storm until it dissolved into thin air.

Ryuga smiled to himself. "Ah. We lost."

Naesrio's Black Star flew higher and higher into the sky.

News spread of the black sun of destruction worldwide.

Naesrio grinned. "It's time. Despair as you say your farewells."

Kyo, Kuro and Agaki were speechless. They couldn't do anything in the face of total defeat.

They stared up at the God of Destruction as he lowered his arms.

The Black Star swelled even larger as it descended to the earth. White light brimmed from it's circumference as it readied to detonate.

There was a shadow of a person in the white light. No one saw him get there.

"Oh my. This certainly won't do.

Naesrio looked up. "Who is that?" Then he grinned. "He must have a death wish."

The figure stuck his hand into the star.

The glowing sun then almost instantly turned matte black-purple, losing its glow.

Naesrio's eyes widened. "What?!! Impossible!!!!"

Everyone watched as the Black Sun shattered, spreading out into billions of pieces. The fragments slowly vanished into thin air as they fell to the ground.

The figure disappeared.

He then showed himself in front of Naesrio.

Everyone was shocked out of their minds to see the person in front of them.

Naesrio was the first to speak.

"You're... Jasper..."

Jasper's eyes glowed pure red with intensity. "I'm sure you were informed that your prerogative was that you could destroy the First Order. In return, you would be granted freedom to have your way. That attack just now was an attempt to put all of the species on the planet to extinction."

Naesrio slowly flew back. He shook with anger. "Why you... you're just Nyx's lapdog!! You're human!! I'm a GOD!!!"

Naesrio threw a punch at such a high speed that it couldn't be seen.

Jasper scowled at Naesrio.

Almost immediately Naesrio hit the ground from thousands of meters in the air.

Jasper seemed to teleport to the ground as well. He began walking towards Naesrio. "I will not allow such filth to touch me. You attempted to destroy the planet, therefor I must interpret that as a threat against my Lord."

Jasper frowned. "You will not see the next sunrise."

Naesrio managed to stand through Jasper's spiritual pressure. But that's all he could manage.

Jasper took a hold of his blade. "So you can stand. You are strong. But let this be your final lesson. There is a difference in strong and invincible."

Kyo and the others watched as Naesrio's head suddenly came clean off.

Naesrio's eyes widened in surprise. His final thoughts emptied his mind as he was put to his death. "Was I cut?! No, that can't be!! My perception of time was destroyed!! There's no... way..."

plop.

Kyo and the others jolted in shock.

Jasper had moved so fast that no one ever saw his hand move from his sword's sheath.

Jasper opened up a black portal for Naesrio's body to fall through. He stepped on the portal as he slowly descended.

Kyo and Kuro got one one knee, out of fear more than respect.

Jasper looked at them and smiled slyly. "Don't worry, I'm not here for you all. Your war with Naesrio is over. Be happier." He left without a trace.

Everyone except Ryuga fell to the ground in silence.

None of them felt satisfied. It was a weird feeling. They were saved, but they didn't defeat Naesrio themselves.

Ryuga didn't care either way. He started walking away.

"Where are you going?" Kuro asked him with one eye open, he struggled to keep his consciousness after expelling so much energy.

Ryuga shrugged his shoulders as he walked. "Don't know. Guess I'm gonna find something to do."

They left it at that.

---

Over the period of several weeks after the events of the war, a lot changed in Arbok City.

Kyo, Kuro and Agaki returned to the city as heroes, but they had nothing to feel good about.

Both Agaki and Kyo resigned from their positions as Knights, for personal reasons.

Kuro decided to transfer to the Police Force. Narumi granted him the position of Head of the Militant Forces. He would see over the police, and the army. Reason being that the army had been used mainly to protect the inside of the city. None of them had powers, and were useless in battles against gods.

The Knights of the First Order took an unimaginable loss in the war. All of the Betas and Alphas died, other than Akasan. The only Omega Knight left was Fujitora.

Even thought Kyo and Agaki were essentially war heroes, there was a good portion of the city's population that saw them both as cowards for resigning. Little did those people know the horrors of what was experienced in the wastelands.

Ryuga used his God Commands to fix up the immense craters in the wastelands. It was the least he could do.

---

Akasan remained in his house. He wasn't able to train or even walk. His legs were so badly damaged that he was now confined to his bed or a wheelchair.

As usual Kagami gave him a serious lecture on why he should stop being a Knight, but she wasn't too hard on him this time around.

Akasan was woken out of his sleep one night from a knock on his bedroom window. He sat up and saw who was there. He dragged himself into his wheelchair and rolled over to the window to open it. "Ryuga, what are you doing here?"

Ryuga looked around him then hopped inside. "Nice place you got here." He leaned against the wall. "I stopped by to see how you were holding up."

"I'm doing fine. What about you?"

"Great actually. I've been pretty much everywhere recently. It's been quiet these days. But that's not a reason to relax. In your case at least. You're a Beta rank in this city aren't you?"

Akasan nodded.

Ryuga went on. "It's safe to say that you'll be promoted soon. Your country is a mess right now. There are no Alphas or Betas left in the First Order, and a man named Fujitora is the last Omega here. The war wiped out the strong adults and teens in this city, so most of the responsibility is likely to fall on you."

Akasan frowned. "Why are you telling me all of this?"

Ryuga smiled to himself. "I'm seeing your story to the end. That's why. You don't have the time to lounge around. I'm sure the entire world knows that you're a descendant of Sirius. You have a target on your back. You have to stay alert."

Akasan looked down. "I know that, I know! But... the doctor said that there's a fifty-fifty chance that I'll never be able to fight again."

Ryuga walked over to him and flicked him in the forehead.

"Ow! What'd you do that for?"

Ryuga crossed his arms. "You're not the average human. Who gives a damn what the doctor says. You'll heal. And when you do, train harder than you've ever trained before, so that your legs can grow back stronger than they were before."

Ryuga hopped back onto the window ledge. "One more thing, word around Olympia is that Nyx's daughter, Andromeda, is coming to Earth in search of you. She lives in our sister galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy. And if my math is correct, you have a little less than three years before she arrives. Be ready." He flew out of the window and disappeared.

Akasan sat there and thought to himself for a short while.

Four days later, Kagami walked into Akasan's room to check on him. He was sitting up in his bed meditating. "What are you doing?"

Akasan looked at her. "Meditating. Agaki said it helps with building up my energy."

Kagami jolted back in surprise. "Akasan!! Your eye..."

Akasan was confused for a moment, but then he realized what she was talking about. "Oh, you mean my Eye of Creation. I'm training myself to be able to use it for longer periods of time. It drains my energy reserves quickly."

Kagami looked down. "You'll be okay, right?"

He smiled. "Yeah, I'll be back to normal in no time!"

"How long is 'no time'?"

Akasan's smile left his face. "I don't know. To the point that I'm at full strength, I'm shooting for one year, then after that, I'll train for another year and a half, then I'll leave Arbok for a while."

Kagami was shocked at this news. "Leave Arbok? What do you mean?"

"I have to see the world. If anything happens here, We still have Kuro and Fujitora. I have to see what it's like out there. No excuses."

Kagami nodded understandingly. "You can do it."

Akasan looked at her. "Huh? For real? You're not mad?"

Kagami shook her head. "I've always looked down at you as if you were my little brother, and you always used to talk like you were some kind of hero. But now everyone sees you as one. There's kids out there who probably look up to you. So, you can do it Akasan. You can change the world someday. I believe in you."
