Akasan looked at Zhi Nu. "You've got some explaining to do."
"Huh? About what?"
"Why do you know what that thing is?"
"Because I've seen him before. Pretty hard to miss a snake that big, don't you think?"
"You knew his name."
"Urk…! Ugh… fine, you've caught me. I'm being hunted. I learned his name through what the warriors talked about."
"Warriors?"
"The might of the Guardians. They're like soldiers. Know what those are?"

"I couldn't tell. Anyway, I took a peek inside one of their camps and stole some food. They saw me."
Akasan palmed his face. "What did you drag me into?! Now that snake is gonna rat me out along with you!" He jumped to the surface. "We have to kill it!"
Zhi Nu jumped up with him. "Kill who?! Apep?! Are you out of your mind?!"
"Better than waiting to be hunted down!"
