Chapter 20 - Chapter 18 ● Capital of blood ●

○Hey guys I am back with another chapter which contains a lot of violence so if you need parental guidance then you may skip this part as well. This chapter contains a lot of bloody and depressing scenes that some might find a little disturbing. So, in the previous chapter we saw how the emperor and his people tried to save their court people and the entire civilians of the capital yet something bad was about to happen which will change several lives at once. Let's dive in.○

Binzok demon, pretty royally elegant moves his highness (with a malicious smirk taunting the opponent)

Emperor Qian, haven't you lost your taste in humans?

Emperor Qian enraged slayed Binzok's right arm and it fell on the ground with a lot of sappy black-red blood spilling out of the slit cut. But as the characteristic property of a pure blood demon, he was able to regenerate a new hand from the cut in seconds. Binzok attacked the emperor like a real enemy after that. The play was already over and it was time for war. The Hungry ghost army crippled the halls and outnumbered the people who were trying to save their lives. The entire hall was filled in with the smell of blood warm and fragrant. The red tint stayed as the new wall paint. Stained in the blood of innocent people stood Consort Han trying her best to save them but she was no match to the entire army.

Binzok, well, well dear Consort Han....I wish to admire your fighting skills a lot. After all we learnt it from the same master.... (With a tone of sarcasm, he remarked while slashing the emperor's left arm)

Emperor Qian, Aghhhhh! (His sword fell from his injured arm and he backed himself to defend Consort Han)

Consort Han, (enraged) Jin Yuan! you bloody Monster! (She slashed Binzok's hand and stabbed her silver hair pin right at his wound which burnt his arm completely.)

Binzok, Aaaahhhhh!.....Aghhh....Jiejei!

Consort Han, for a split second I thought you would understand me and change for better...but till this day you offered yourself to emotions like revenge and old grudges....in your entire lifespan you only cared about your emotions and nothing else. Not even your own elder sister!

Binzok, (Chuckles) Seriously, you really think that I will think good and highly of my sister especially when she abandoned me and my clan to marry a human! really?!

Consort Han, Yuan you never tried and you will never try to understand me will you!?

Binzok, Huhhh! do not take my name from your filthy mouth.... you and your so-called husband never cared what your decision would cause had you?

Binzok tries his best to heal his wound while Consort Han keeps on pressuring her silver hair pin into his wound with tears falling off her face. Without any hesitation and an emotionless face, she pulled out the hair pin with force which made the demon to scream out of pain as if he was dying.

Consort Han immediately plunged towards the emperor to check on his wound which was made by the crow staff by the demon. It looked shabby, black and dusty as if it had infected the core and the nerves around the hand and upper torso. The emperor kept on squeezing his blood out that was infected and screamed continuously out of pain.... Meanwhile Consort Han tied to heal the wound using her blood and honey nectar. This aggravated his pain and the entire hall was filled with the emperor's screams....

Suddenly a lady demon shadow appeared at the back of Consort Han.... The emperor screamed "Ke Hwan!" she turned at the sight of the shadow and was slashed by the sword of Yuel Demon. Consort Han not only injured her back but also slipped at the edge of the Yuel demons arched Armour causing a lot of bleeding. She collapsed due to the pain and uncovered the emperors wound while trying to block the Yuel demon. Both the King and the queen were down and the demons overpowered the entire army... now destruction was on the head and heart of country Zifen! Later the entire hall fell silent and human blood dripped all over the wall. Innocent screams were the music for the hungry ghost army and not only that their favorite job was to slaughter humans. The entire capital was now a blood stadium for all sorts of demons and negative energies to feast on. The day of joy had become the "black day" for Zifen because both the emperor and his consort were badly injured. Helpless they saw countless killings, murders and slaughtering's in front of their eyes. Being under the effect of poison from the crow staff the emperor was still able to move and reach towards the fore ends where Consort Han was thrown after she collapsed by the Yuel demon. While the slight moves of the emperor were unnoticed by the hungry ghost army, they were suttle enough to catch the eyes of the Yuel demon. She immediately rushes in between and steps over the lowly emperor's palm trying to reach his consort. With utter pain he screamed but no mercy was to be granted by the ruthless demon. Not even a frown appeared on her face while she kept staring at the emperor's constant shrewd voice that begged for mercy.

Yuel Demon, what a pity it is to see the powerful emperor Qian begging in front of a lowly filthy demon like me! But it's actually not your fault after all... your father was the same as you....

Emperor, Agh!..... You bastard! Dare to defame my father!

Yuel demon starts to crush his palm with more force listening to this and injures the emperor's knuckles. He keeps on screaming for help but to his surprise an arrow strikes right through three hungry ghosts ripping their heads off and towards the Yuel demon's chest. She is able to dodge it without getting off her position catching it in her hands. She turns around to take a peek at the shooter who was standing right below the deck at the balcony of the peach garden. Both of them locked an intense eye contact while the emperor screamed in pain. The Yuel demon then gave a malicious smirk and destroyed the arrow in her hand. As the shattered pieces fell off from her palm, she changed her expression while removing her foot from the emperor's palm. With a furious agility she took the broken arrow's arrow head and stabbed it at the emperor's hand with all the possible force. The emperor screamed at the top of his lungs as the arrow pierced his left palm completely locking it to the floor. At a far of sight the man who shot the arrow was enraged and rushed to save the emperor and the consort. He jumped off to the plum tree and swung directly towards the banquet hall's gallery entering the hall through the window. But to his surprise all the hungry ghosts and the demons were gone. He rushed to the emperor who was in an unconscious state.

Taipei, Lord! Lord! (He kept on screaming as to when there was no response, he took the arrow head and pulled it out to wake the emperor).

There was no response yet which scared Taipei... then he saw the Imperial consort lying unconscious at the other end of the hall and rushed towards her. He tried his best to wake her up as well but it seemed like both of them went into a deep slumber that was somehow cursed on them. He recollected his thoughts and memorized the situations that he saw from the plum garden. As he recollected the events, he got the clue that the Yuel demon has cursed his lord and the consort into a voidable slumber that was the cause of their unconsciousness. He immediately took his hand ad used a sealing symbol of their wound to seal them shut. The presence of an immense negative energy was all around the banquet hall which troubled him to completely heal their wounds. He wasn't able to completely heal them but his seal stopped the bleeding till some extent. He tried to recall over how to break the curse but wasn't able to remember anything about the curse as it was his first time getting a powerful Yuel demon to cast a Slumber Curse. He was entirely clueless onto how he shall deal with the situation, while the wounds that were sealed by him stopped the blood flow completely. He tried again as a last atempt to wake them up from their unconcious condition as their wounds healed. But this time as well he failed. He asked the Local guards that were partly injured to help him take the king and the consort to their palace. Hoping that there might be a chance to wake them up in familiar surroundings. There were only 5 injured guards who tried their best to shift the dead bodies and clear the passage while the rest lifted the Consort and the emperor alongside Taipei. He questioned them about the attack but they only said that the demons were only two and an army of hungry ghosts but the minute the black looking demon stabbed the emperor they all disappeared. After saying this much one of the guards collapsed immediately. Taipei asked the others to check him but unfortunately, they reported him dead. Taipei was confused but he didn't mind these things at all as his priority was to safely send the emperor and the consort to their palaces respectively.

At the study hall,

Prince was furious and had mixed emotions to consume. Hence, he was neither listening to his sister A'rou nor Ying. They kept following him as to gather a chance to persuade his anger and calm his emotions but he just won't listen. They kept chasing him but his outburst and pace was unmatched by them as they entered the study chamber A'rou shouted at him to stop right where he was which made him more enraged and ended up shouting at one another. In the rush near the gate Ying slipped and got a scratch at her knee. Listening to her agh! both of them rushed towards her and grabbed her with utter precaution as she has a bruise around her right knee caused due to the friction. Looking at the sight of Ying in pain Yan Yo started to shout at her that she should have taken care while walking and that she should be extra careful of her actions right after saying that tears started to shed from his eyes as he kept staring at her wound. This made both of them emotional, hugging his sister Yan bursts and says that it's all his fault.

Prince Yan Yo, (Tearful voice), I'm really sorry Ying'er it's all my fault, I shouldn't have run away with the ambush and rage like that... I'm really sorry that because of me you got hurt! I'm sorry.... (In a low tone hugging her)

Princess Ying, please don't blame yourself brother you are my only friend please don't apologize it was not your fault. Also, I'm the youngest that is why I'm a little clumsy right? please stop crying! Otherwise, I will never talk to you in the future!

Prince Yan Yo, No... it is my fault! are you okay? does it hurt? (Gazing at her wound he said)

Princess Ying, I'm fine don't worry about it! You go and talk to A'rou Jiejie she is mad at you because you won't listen to her at all... Go talk to her fast...

Prince Yan Yo, Are you sure you're fine?

Princess Ying, yes! yes! I'm perfectly alright. Now go! Quickly! (She smiles as he walks up towards A'rou)

A'rou was very disturbed by Yan's act and was enraged. She cornered herself to not show any anger towards the both of them and in order to control her emotions she valued and stepped aside like a sophisticated warrior hiding her true emotions. but when Prince Yan called out to her, she placed herself in such a way that her back faced her brother and the front towards the book shelf. She was adamant and much annoyed that she declined to talk to both of them. But after much persuasion her anger and emotions exploded with a hurtful remark in the study hall.

She said in an utterly harsh tone to Yan- SHE WAS MY MOTHER AS WELL! brother!

Prince Yan startled by his siter's mental breakdown in front of his eyes saddened his face and tilted towards the ground out of shame. He wasn't even able to look at his younger sister into her eyes as she kept on asking him to look into her eyes and speak up for his actions. But he was ashamed of himself so much that he didn't even try to persuade her rage at that point.

Princess A'rou, she was not only your but my mother as well! she died after 2 months of giving birth to me! (In a teary voice she mumbled) You got your sweet childhood and time with her... You got to be there with her while you grew up, learnt new things, Impressed her and many more but I..... I wasn't even able to spend time with her! I don't even know how she looked like brother. I was separated from her at my birth. So, if father is really her culprit, then he also owes a huge apology towards me as well. It was an injustice with me but I never demanded a justification by shaming my own father in front of the entire capital.... What you did today was completely wrong and unfilial. Brother you not only disrespected father but also our mother's love towards him! And you had no right to do that! Absolutely no right!

Princess Ying was in a state of crying after listening to what Princess A'rou just said as she was able to understand her pain and relate to it as she lost her mother as well at the time of her birth. She was too saddened by repeatedly visualizing her loneliness without her mother, about how much she misses her and experience a cold shard on her chest while recollecting all the times she missed the concubine. Prince Yan was too ashamed of all this that he didn't even look up to face her, instead he self-reflected on what he has done wrong. Sometime later he gathers his courage to face A'rou and to apologize her for the pain and grief his action has caused to her.

Prince Yan Yo, I'm really sorry A'rou I was wrong! my actions have caused much pain to my own family and to the ones I love the most in this entire world! Please forgive this idiot brother of yours! I beg you please talk to me! Look at me! Please....

Princess Ying, Jiejie forgive brother Yan he understood his mistake.... Please just let thing go you two! And please help me get up I'm not able to stand up properly. This limb of mine...agh!

Princess A'rou and Prince Yan both rushed towards her and grabbed her when she stumbled and was about to fall. Yin smiled at both of them and started laughing at them making fun of their teary face while complementing her beauty the ease out the serious tension... They both looked at each other and started laughing at each other and eventually hugged and forgave each other. Prince Yan also promised that he will never repeat this mistake in the future and also promised to Ying and A'rou that before leaving the next day he would apologize to the emperor and the Imperial Noble consort in front of the court after the Lun Shen.
