the next day has arrived. its morning 9 am now and ken is enjoying mornin coffee inside the newly opened cafe in his neighborhood. he sitting like a gentleman peacefully sipping the black coloured coffee but in truth he couldn't handle the bitter taste so added 5 spoons of sugar . so he looks like he is enjoying the taste slowly but is just drinking the sweet coffee with difficulty and is just desperate to not show on his face . well it just means that one shouldn't be hasty while trying new things when he is not used to it.
ken pays his bill and leaves the shop slowly . he goes back to his apartment which is a minute walk from the cafe and changes into his tracksuit . he is ready now and locks the door then starts jogging towards the ito boxing gym while thinking about his new kouhai and looking forward to start his training .
ken reaches the gym after 30 minutes and sits on the bench while wiping the sweat off his face with a towel with logo mark of ito boxing gym printed on it . the atmosphere of the gym is quiet now because he is alone boxer here right now and bonda San is busy with his managerial work inside the office .
ken stands up and starts wrapping the white bandage on his hands like every professional boxer does before starting his practice . he is done after just few minutes because he is already used to wrap them daily now for more than 3 years. he then does shadow boxing for 3 minutes according to the time 1 round takes to finish in an official match to finish . he does this small routine everyday to check if his form is correct or not .
he then puts his old practice gloves on and starts hitting the sandbag following his rhythm. every boxer has his own rhythm so practicing while following it is beneficial. kou San arrives just before 5 minutes remain before the clock hits 10 am as always and changes in his t shirt .
ken then starts his Mitt training with kou san intensely following the sets for each 3 minutes just like the pace of a 10 round match . after ken is finished with mitt training, he goes outside for his routine roadwork .
meanwhile tanaka and gin arrive when ken has just gone out and get ready to start their practice . well this is how the normal practice and training of ken starts everyday .
ken arrives back after an hour and finds ryo wearing gloves and ready to start his practice .
" hmm.. ryo , remove your gloves . let's first test the power behind your punches " ken says to ryo with a smile ..
" oh.. so ken chan thinks that ryo has some power behind his punches , huh. what do you think gin ? " Tanaka asks gin ..
" hmm.. looking at the build of ryo's body , it's possible. well we will find out now so let's just watch " gin replies with a cool attitude ..
" so follow this motion correctly and punch the sandbag with your full power . do you understand ryo ? " ken says to ryo ..
" yes , I get it " ryo replies while starting the motion to throw a right straight punch ..
boom..
" holy shit .. that's some power dude " gin says with an envious look on his face ..
" so our little ryo chan is a hard puncher , huh. I'm jealous of ken , who gets to train him" tanaka adds with a smile and returns to resume his practice..
" wow.. did you see the sandbag now senpai ? look how far it flew back " ryo says in an excited tone ..
" baka .. look at your hand . the skin is peeled of after the punch landed . let's treat that carefully first .. " ken shows a cool attitude but is amazed inwardly by the fact that his kouhai is the rare hard puncher and is looking forward to the faces of his future opponents when they face his power inside the ring ..
ken explains to ryo about what does it mean to be a hard puncher while bandaging his right hand . " so you have power but your arm will also absorb some damage everytime you hit a target . do you understand ryo ?"
" yes senpai . so what should I do then ? "
" hmm.. well it's simple. you just have to train your shoulders and arm muscles so that they can withstand the shock everytime after your punch lands . yosh from now on only roadwork for you and just follow this training method for a month . if you follow this method , your arms and shoulders will be strong enough to absorb the shock of your punches after a month " ken smiles and writes a training method on a paper and hands it to ryo " and no punches in this one month ,okay ? I will teach you the basics after a month has passed "
" yes senpai . " ryo understands the logic so he happily agrees to follow the instructions of his senpai whom he looks up to ..
