"Allow me to explain, Mr. Gavin. That thing you are holding right now is a Mika. A Mika is the outer shell of the Great Garameta. The Great Garameta lives in the deepest part of this world, near the core of our planet. In your science, we can compare it to a large clam, and the Mika that you are holding right now is part of its shell", I listened intently to his explanation, making sure to take note of every bit of information. Information is power and I know for a fact that I can use that to my advantage someday. But think about it, an organism that can live in the deepest part of a planet? How was it possible?
He continued, "The Great Garameta is not just an organism, Gavin. The Great Garameta is the protector of this world. It lives off the heat from the core of planet Berra. You see, our planet's core is very unstable. If not for the Great Garameta, each and every being currently residing on this planet will not be able to bear the heat that our core gives off. They will soon perish and die." His tone sounds like someone who's in deep awe and appreciation. They probably think of this 'garameta' as some sort of god. I have to tread carefully if I don't want to offend them.
"So is the 'great garameta' that you are talking about sentient? How long is it living?", I asked very curiously. I probably ticked something off because he looked at me vexingly. I just told myself to tread carefully and here I am offending them. Damn. This is quite taxing indeed.
"I suggest that you be conscious of your words, Mr. Gavin.", He said strongly. "The Great Garameta is more alive than any living being can be. You see, if you check on your Mika you can feel some sort of pulse isn't that right? The shell of the Great Garameta is also alive, although superficially. The only thing it can do is connect us, and you, to the Great Garameta. All you need to do is drop your blood on the triangular indent that you'll see on one side of the hexagon and it will connect you to the Kapa, the 'internet' if I use your term." He explained. How far did he scourge my brain of information? He even knows about the internet. At least I understood him better because of his explanation so I guess that works out fine.
He looked at me to see what I'll do next so I grabbed one of the knives that those robed guys are holding and nicked my middle finger diagonally. Blood slowly dripped from the opening. I was not disturbed in one bit. I've been a neurosurgeon for a long time now and this is just nothing for me. Besides, I am very curious as to what this 'Mika' is and how it works so I decided to do as they said.
As I checked very closely on the cut that I did, I noticed that my blood seems to have a sort of unusual sparkle. I just brushed it off thinking that it is probably just me experiencing a lot of weird things all at once which somehow affected my sense of perception and sight. I slowly dripped some blood on the indent, and before I know it, the Mika that I am holding glowed bright red.
"What a curious material", I said to myself. The thing slowly dimmed until it was back on its original hue. Once I get out of here, I will definitely have to study this material.
"Now Gavin, you are connected to the Kapa. You can now send and receive information from us and the Great Garameta. You can now also learn anything you like and anything you like, only if it is made available for you. Here, I will send you the information about our language.", he immediately took something from his pocket. It is also a Mika but in a different color than what I have.
The color of his Mika is a bit purple. He closed his eyes and at the same time, the Mika he is holding glowed a bright purple hue. The light converges to the indent, and like some sort of laser, shot a light towards my Mika.
The moment that the light from his Mika entered mine, I felt a surge of information in my brain. It felt like I was being forced to watch a whole length movie in a matter of seconds, and I can feel the pain surging from my head going down to my spine.
From literature to geography and culture. It is as if I am swimming in a vat full of information and it felt very amazing and heavy at the same time. The pain is getting unbearable as seconds go by, but before I could complain, the flood of information stopped.
"Was it over?", I asked him. I was shocked to realize that I am not talking to him telepathically anymore, but verbally.
"It is over now, Gavin. You can rest now.", He answered out loudly. "I can infer that the transmission is a success then. I am amazed", he added.
"Not a lot of people can do what you did just now, Gavin. Information, especially a lot of information, can make our brain overload and shut down. Your capability to receive information is amazing, especially so because I deliberately sent you more information than what a human brain can endure", He said, followed by a smirk that he immediately changes to a smile. "Don't get me wrong, Mr. Gavin. I most definitely wish no harm to befall from you. I am just testing your capabilities, that is all."
"What an asshole", I thought to myself. "I really want to punch this guy, if only I have strength."
He probably heard or 'read' what I just thought of because he quickly gave me a sharp glance. "I won't do that if I were you, Gavin. You see, your mind is pretty much like an open book right now. I can easily shut your mind off if I want to.", he answered telepathically. A smug look painting his face.
"What do you mean by shut off?" I asked with curiosity lingering on my eyes.
"To shut off one's brain is to deprive them of thinking. In essence, I can easily turn you into a mass of flesh with no thoughts in a matter of seconds and you won't even know how it happens, where it happens and why." You can see the darkness in his eyes which is very different from the warm smile that he showed earlier.
"Scarrrryyyy." I almost got chills just by thinking about it. A vegetable in a matter of seconds? These guys... They are definitely lunatics. First, I was abducted. Second, I was enslaved. Now, I am being threatened. This is just great.
"What a ride" I muttered with a sigh. I just wanted to disappear into the void, never seeing these guys, ever.
