Chapter 1 - I'm Trying To Get Back At You, So Why Don't You Care!?

"Give that back!" the young girl yelled as she gave chase.

The young boy in front of her showed no signs of stopping. In his hands he held the girl's favorite stuffed rabbit. This boy always had a habit of doing this kind of stuff to her and it made her upset.

"You're gonna have to catch up first!" the boy yelled.

This happened several years ago. The two of them are now in high school.

The boy's name is Andrew Aiken and he's a decent student. He doesn't cause anywhere near as much trouble for the girl anymore. Her name is Ariel Pratt and one day she discovered that she's a witch. Her family kept it a secret from her since they didn't want her to get involved with it, but she found out one day when her family was cleaning their house.

Despite her family's objections, she ended up learning spells. All she could think about was getting her revenge on the boy that had picked on her for so many years. As they grew older, it happened less, but Ariel felt like he distanced himself from her. One day, when school was out, she waited for him. The brown-haired boy with blue eyes walked outside and saw the blonde-haired girl with green eyes just standing there.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"Getting my revenge." she responded.

After she had said that, Andrew saw a bright light all around him and then what looked like a pink cloud and after that, everything seemed so much bigger. He was on the ground, on all fours. To make things even weirder, he now he had a tail! He was no longer human. He had become a cat!

"Well?" she said.

"Whatever." responded Andrew, "I'm going to go home and sleep."

"A-Andrew!" exclained Ariel, "Does it not bother you!?"

"As long as I can sleep, I'm fine." replied Andrew.

Andrew the cat walked away while Ariel stood there completely dumbfounded. When Andew went home, he did as he said he would and took a nap. He turned back to normal the next day. When the school day ended, he went outside and found Ariel waiting for him again.

"There's no way you'll like this!" said Ariel, casting another spell.

Then there was a bright light and a pink cloud. Again, the world was bigger, but Andrew couldn't move. He had been transformed into an inanimate object: a rock.

"Ha, now you can't do anything!" exclaimed Ariel.

"I can still nap." the rock said.

"How are you so calm about this!?" yelled Ariel.

"Freaking out over something like this would be a waste of energy." answered Andrew.

Ariel stomped away, upset that she couldn't get the reaction she wanted out of Andrew. The spell wore off that night, so Andrew was able to go home and take a shower. The next day, they bumped into each other and their way to school. Before Andrew could say anything, Ariel cast another one of her spells. Everything was so much bigger like the last two times, but now he had eight legs.

"Try not to get stepped on." said Ariel, running off.

Class started and Andrew the spider, made it. He was a bit late for class, though.

"Sorry I'm late." the spider said.

"Andrew?" their teacher said, "Where are you?"

"Down here." the spider answered, "I got turned into a spider this morning."

"Oh, I see." the teacher said, "Do you need help getting to your desk?"

"Nah, I'm fine." responded Andrew.

Ariel couldn't believe that even their teacher could be so calm about this. Andrew made it to his desk and nobody even cared that one of the students was a spider. Ariel clenched her fist, disappointed that no one around her was shocked. When the day was over, Ariel walked over to his desk, and cast another spell on him. This time, he turned into a dog.

"Would you like to go for a walk?" asked Ariel, pulling a dog collar and leash out of nowhere.

"If you want." he said.

"Come on," said Ariel, "can't you be embarrassed already?"

"Are we going or not?" asked Andrew.

"JUST BE EMBARRASSED ALREADY!" yelled Ariel, running off.

"So, is that a no?" asked Andrew.

Since Ariel took off, his teacher walked him home.

"You're pretty calm about being transformed." the teacher commented.

"You seem pretty calm yourself." responded Andrew.

"Ah, yes." the teacher said, "I've had a few witches in my classes before, so I know this kind of thing happens."

"I don't really think it's worth freaking out over." said Andrew, "As long as I'm alive, I'm still myself."

The weekend came and Ariel came over to Andrew's house. She didn't stay long because she turned Andrew into a little baby! Unfortunately, baby Andrew didn't cry like she expected. He just remained calm.

"Why are you not upset!?" exclaimed Ariel, "It doesn't make sense!"

"Why would I be upset?" asked Andrew, "The only thing I have to do now is nap."

"Dammit!" she yelled, running off.

His parents weren't even that concerned about the fact that their son had turned into a baby and just did the same as they did when he was originally a baby. When the weekend ended, Andrew was back to normal. Despite her failed attempts to make Andrew uncomfortable she wasn't ready to give up. She had one more idea and she hoped that it would get a genuine reaction out of him.

On his way to school, Andrew found Ariel waiting for him. He figured she was planning something else, but like usual, he didn't really care what it was. He looked at her and saw that she had an evil smile on her face, but it didn't even faze him. After letting out a chant, Andrew felt his body changing. For the most part, his body felt a bit lighter but there was something off about his chest. He looked down and observed what he could.

"Oh, guess I'm a girl now." he said, heading for their school building.

"Hey, come on!" exclaimed Ariel, "There's no way you can just be okay with this!"

"It doesn't matter what I am." said Andrew, "Because I'll always be me."

Andrew showed up to class as a girl and barely anyone even questioned it. That really upset Ariel. How could everyone be so calm about everything that was going on? Their class went by like usual and Ariel was the only student to stay behind.

"Guess I should turn him back." she said, "Wait. Where did he go?"

"I believe he went home already." their teacher responded.

"Gah," responded Ariel, "how can everyone be so calm about everything?"

"Well," their teacher said, "everyone's kind of aware that you're the one casting spells on him."

"T-they are?" she responded.

"Well, you haven't exactly been hiding it." responded their teacher.

"I guess I should give up." said Ariel.

"You shouldn't be trying to get revenge of people." their teacher said, "Besides, it looks all of that's in the past, right?"

"Yeah... you're right." responed Ariel.

Ariel realized that she had been wasting her time on Andrew and stopped casting spells on him. Since Andrew had already gone home, she wasn't able to turn him back to normal until the next day. The good thing is that now all the bad stuff is behind them and they're getting along pretty well. The two of them are moving forward because they were able to let go of the things that happened to them in their pasts.
