Schaffe would see nothing come out of Phil's gun. Phil falls back as he is shot in the stomach. Schaffe grabs Phil's gun and sees it is not loaded.
"Fuck. Hey stay with me," said Schaffe in a panic as he tried to stop Phil from bleeding out of his stomach with his hands.
"It's over. You win," said Phil.
"Shut the fuck up…," said Schaffe. He starts to realize. "You saw this coming."
"Of course, I knew that bastard would use my friends to get me. He a sick fuck. Schaffe, there are some fucked up people out there who want nothing but power in this destroyed world. I was only a cog in it."
"Just shut up. I will get you out of here," said Schaffe.
"Nah, this… is it for me," said Phil. "But it is not for you. Go and live on for me,"
"Hey…," said Schaffe. But he saw it was too late he watched Phil die right in front of him.
After a couple hours Schaffe would leave the vault with Phil's corpse covered in a white bed sheet.
In a room, Ian and Alan were tied up sitting on a metal chair with Sara and Max. when the radio goes off.
"Schaffe has finished his mission in eliminating Phil, sir," said The Radio.
"Very good. Make sure he returns safely," said Max.
"You fucking piece of shit," said Alan.
"Now, Phil is out of the way. I have no use for you two. Sara, take care of them," said Max.
"Yes sir," said Sara. She takes her handgun out in her right hand and aims it at Max's head.
"Paladin Sara?" questioned Max.
"Sorry Leader Max Majors. You have committed not just crimes in New York and Philadelphia. I can no longer watch a brotherhood my parents helped create become corrupted by you any longer," said Sara. Before Max could react, he was blasted in the head by her bullet killing him in one shot.
"Damn," said Ian.
"Ad Victoriam," said Sara. She goes and unties Ian and Alan.
"What do we do now?" asked Alan.
"This would cause the fall of The Brotherhood of Steel," said Ian.
"No, I will reform it and make sure it never gets this corrupt," said Sara.
"Alright, let's go and get rid of the body," said Alan. "This will be our secret."
"Okay," said Ian. "what about Schaffe?"
"We will wait for his return," said Sara.
Later that evening Schaffe was watching Phil's body enter a furnace to be burned he looked depressed at the loss of his best friend. Ian and Alan were there with Sara.
"it is over," said Sara.
"Yeah," said Ian. "It just I cannot believe it would end like this."
"But at this moment you are free and your debt has been paid off," said Sara. Schaffe without a word would then leave them.
"He needs time," said Alan.
"I do not blame him," said Ian.
"Just watch him for now. Phil would want that," said Sara.
"He knew this would happen," said Ian.
"Yeah, he must have known they would send Schaffe," said Alan.
"Now for the incident in Philadelphia. When he woke Schaffe did not remember what happened," said Sara.
"Really?" questioned Alan.
"He blacked out," said Sara. "That's what he said what happened."
"Then it only us that know about this," said Ian. "An it should stay that way. There is no way Schaffe would turn into a deathclaw again. We just bring that knowledge to our graves"
