Chapter 17 - Chapter seventeen- A nightly scroll

11:59pm

___________

I slid my hands in my pockets on this cold night.

All the dorm room lights were out, giving the main building and the business building room to shine bright amongst the academy.

A gorgeous sighting.

Many students lied awake in their dorms, celebrating the holiday times and whatnot. I could see the gigantic stadium from where I stand. Grey clouds hover above it.

The moon was bright today. Brighter than usual. Kyutie, Markus, and I all just got done hanging out in the library; studying, and having our daily gossip about the classes we attended today. As I make my way down the gravel, I could faintly make out what seemed to be two people.

Smoking; which wasn't allowed on campus.

I got closer and kept my eyes slightly distant from them as I could tell they were now taunting me down.

I try to stay as calm as possible, avoiding any type of problems that could happen with these types of people in the academy. It was a guy and a girl. The guy was obviously touching all over the girl into her story, she was doing the same to his crotch. I said nothing.

Making my way past them, I could hear one call out to me.

"Kingsman, right?" I hear.

I turn around to make it seem like I was intimidated.

"Yeah," I say.

The guy takes another puff of his weed. "You smoke?" He asked. Looking at the girl who was clearly high on this drug. Her eyes bloodshot red and eyes watering, I shake my head.

"I'm, Nah man. Sorry." I turn back around and found myself walking towards the stadium.

The late-night crew had to be gone. Practice ended at 10pm for anyone. The stadium was left unlocked for anyone who found themselves unable to sleep and felt like training a bit longer. I had my gym shorts and t-shirt on so I guess I'll give today a run and kill time.

I could already barely sleep thinking about the day the fight comes.

I got to the stadium and entered through the way I always came through. The cold only grew colder as I walk into the small tunnel that led to the inside of the place.

I could remotely hear someone crying off in the distance. I couldn't help myself but look up in curiosity.

I could see a silhouette of a girl curled up in a ball by the moonlight that ran past her and into my face. I look harder and begin to walk faster due to my kindness to see if this person was alright. I slow down.

It was Arianna.

I guess she couldn't hear me coming up to her due to her crying pretty loud.

I could see why she chose this place to do so. It was pretty far from the academy and the echoes were under control, so you could cry as loud as you want to and no one could really hear. I stop about 20 feet in front of her.

"Why meee," she cried.

I kneel down ever so quietly.

"You okay?" I say.

My voice broke out silence.

Arianna looks up and quickly wipes her eyes with her sleeve. Not making eye contact, she looks in the direction of the stadium and rests her head on her knees.

"Yes..." she answers.

I stay knelt down and just look at her. I could see the shining in her eyes that let me know she was crying heavily.

"You lied to me."

"I didn't... I said I was fine."

"Then why are you crying?"

"Is it any of your business, Mann?"

I look down and swallow a bit. My hair creating a shadow that was interesting for just a split second before looking back at Arianna. She still looked away from me.

"Arianna," I say.

I got no answer from her.

As her phone lights up beside her, I could see what Jason had sent her.

An emoji of the middle finger. Her own boyfriend. I could tell Arianna knew I had seen it and slid it to the other side of her.

"What happened between you two?" I ask.

"You have a lot of questions to ask, don't you?"

I sigh and sit down.

"To make sure you're safe,"

"Don't worry about me," Arianna says.

I raise an eyebrow.

"He hit you?" I assume.

Arianna began crying again. Not caring I was sitting right next to her, she began balling out. covering her hands with her palms.

"He hit me. And... and... and.... he slept with another girl. And I didn't do anything wrong to him." Arianna cried harder. "He slapped me and told me to forget what I saw. I didn't mean to make him mad at me," Arianna cried.

That's when I could see the bruises on Arianna's face and arms.

My heart filled with anger.

"I'm sorry," I say.

Arianna wiped her face again with her sleeve before leaning over. I wrap my arms around her as she lies her head in my lap before curling up her legs.

"I'm sorry," Arianna says.

"For what?

"For being a bad person. For having these powers. I just want to live a normal life," Arianna cries. I wrap her stomach with my thumb. My other fingers wrapped around her waist.

"You're wonderful and beautiful," I say. Arianna didn't answer but instead almost instantly fell asleep.

I was so angry that I couldn't really enjoy the moment of cuddling Arianna.

If Jason even dares say anything to me, I'll knock the teeth out of his mouth. And Mente chimes in, I'll do the same to her. Touching and hitting his friends is okay, but to someone as soft and precious as Arianna is a no-go. I'll hit him as hard as he hit Arianna.

I place my hand on Arianna's head and leaned forward, lightly placing my chin on the side of her head.

I had to lift her with my forearm a little to get her comfortable since she was now fast asleep.

She'd actually cried herself to sleep.
