Run.
Running is what my life has consisted of since the accident. Bouncing from relative to relative, always on the move, never in one place. After the accident everything fell apart, everything changed. My life wasn't the only thing that had changed. Something happened to me that day, something I cannot remember. What ever happened to me, allows me to see a side of the world that no human has access to. A side of existence that wears many faces, and allows no living being to look upon it.
Let me take you back to that day.

"Mom, mom are you coming or not!" I yell down the stairs. I give myself a once over in the mirror, pulling my long blonde hair up in a pony tail, tightening the laces on my cleats. Making sure I haven't forgotten my knee pads, or my shorts like I did last time. This is the biggest soccer game of the season and I've worked all year to make the cut on the team. My dad, being my number one fan, took off work just for the occasion.
"Yeah hon, i'm coming! Just let me get the boys ready!" I hear her yell back. I roll my eyes in her direction and sigh. Getting those boys ready takes ages. I'm lucky to have 7 year old twin brothers, who seem to have an unlimited supply of energy. Except when it comes to getting dressed, being anywhere on time, or doing chores.
"Mom, we cant be late! Its a soccer game, not a doctors appointment!" I yell back, grabbing my bag and jacket, then making my way down the stairs.
"Come on boys, lets go! Hurry up! Corinne is gonna kick our butts if we make her late!" I hear my moms scold along with a chorus of giggling.
"Yes she will!" I yell back up the stairs. I make my way to the front door to show that I'm ready to go and everyone else needs to get their butts in gear.
"If you boys don't hurry up I'm going to shove both of you on the field so you can win the game for us!" I yell.
With another chorus of giggling my twin brothers come bouncing down the stairs, their faces smeared with blue and white paint, the color of our schools team.
"What did you boys do to your faces?" I ask confused, finally seeing my mother in the background shaking her head at me.
"It looks awesome!" I change tactics, knowing my mother wants me to be supportive of their destruction.
"They wanted to support you and the team, so I gave them a little face paint!" My mom smiles at the boys and me.
"Well I think they look awesome!" My dad shouts grabbing both of the boys, causing them to erupt in giggles again.
"Alright alright, is everyone ready?" I say in a huff.
"Were ready, were ready. Lets get out of here so Corinne can win the game." My dad says carrying the boys outside, one in each arm.
I follow them out the door and we all pile into the sedan. I'm determined to endure the 30 minute ride with minimal shouting on my part. The boys, Connor and Jake, sit in the back causing their usual havoc. The rest of this night happened in a blur. I can tell you what everyone was talking about up until this point, the music that was playing, the road signs that passed. But, what ran in front of the sedan? I have no idea. A shadow, a deer, bear? The authorities couldn't figure it out. I couldn't figure it out. What happened next was the end of my old life, and the beginning of my new one.
Whatever ran in front of the car, I was the last to see it.
"Watch out!" My mom screamed, grabbing my dads shoulder.
The next thing I remember was floating, and hearing voices. There were so many voices overlapping each other, talking about different things.
"Whats her status" A woman's voice asked.
"Corinne, her name is Corinne" Another one said.
"She's the one" A different voice chimed in, a scratchier voice.
"Their dead" A mans voice said.
"She has to be the one" A hollow voice said.
