Mr. Thomas was seated down at a local restaurant. He had been waiting for Mr. X for more than five minutes. Men like him did not wait for people. People waited for them. To an average person, five minutes was an okay time to keep someone waiting but not for someone like Mr. Thomas who carried himself as though he was the most important person in every room he walked into.
Mr. X walked into the restaurant speedily. He sighted Mr. Thomas and sat with him.
"I'm sorry sir. My son collapsed so I had to rush him to the hospital"
Mr. Thomas's frown did not lift even after hearing his excuse.
"Do I look like I care about your family? If I cared I would have asked you"
"Sorry sir" he responded apologetically.
"The next time you're even a minute late. Your pay would be slashed by half"
"Sir with all due respect. Isn't that too harsh a punishment for being late with just mere minutes" he had a family to take care of.
