The next day (#2nd day in Italy)...
I woke up early the next morning, and to my surprise, I saw a cute bunny staring at me.
"Aww. What's your name, little guy?" I asked the bunny. Of course, I wasn't expecting an answer, but I was surprised when I heard someone reply. "Her name's Rosie."
I sat down and placed the bunny on my lap. I saw Lexi smiling there, with a family of rabbits on the grass. She was very gentle with the bunnies.
"Wanna go eat breakfast? Mr. Damson's going to work soon, but he's preparing our food right now." invited Lexi. I nodded and fixed my hair on the bathroom. We got downstairs and Mr. Damson grinned at us.
"Buongiorno ragazze. Sto ancora preparando la colazione, ma è quasi pronta. Vuoi un po 'di latte o frappè?" He said. I understood it too, of course.
"Milkshake di mango e banana per me, per favore. Oh, e puoi mettere una fragola sopra? I frappè non sono MAI completi senza una fragola o una ciliegina sulla torta." Lexi answered as we sat down on the tall chairs on the bar marble table. "Chocolate milk for me, please." I replied. Lexi noticed that my drink wasn't as fancy as hers, and I didn't speak Italian. She had a bit feeling that something was wrong with me.
A few seconds later, Mr. Damson put our food on the table. Lexi smiled and I was excited to eat. My breakfast was waffle cake with colorful cereal s sprinkles, and Lexi got strawberry pancakes with a hint of honey syrup.
"Yum!" We said.
"Ok, girls. I'm sorry but gotta go to work. But don't worry! Andrea will be back soon. She went to Venice last night, but she'll be back in a jiffy." said Mr. Damson as he took off his apron, grabbed his briefcase, and left for the office. Lexi ate her pancakes fast and noticed that I was being quiet. And obviously, it's because of the "thought". She DEFINITELY knew something's wrong.
"Hey Al. What's wrong? You don't look so happy for me." she said, worriedly. Of course, I didn't want her to know that I looked at her phone, being nosy. So, as what all people-who-don't-want-other-people-to-know-your-real-feelings say, I replied with a "I'm fine". Unfortunately she didn't believe me.
"Nope, something's wrong." she insisted. "Alright, fine. I'm just worried about my sister. We had a fight and now she fainted. I feel a bit guilty." I said instead. Of course, it's not true. I just needed a fake reply. Fortunately, she believed me this time.
"Don't worry. I mean-you shouldn't be worrying too much." she said, awkwardly.
After breakfast, I washed the dishes and Lexi put them back on the dish rack. Just then, Ms. Andrea came back with a duffel canvas bag on her shoulder.
"Girls! You shouldn't be washing the dishes." She said, blushing.
"No, no, it's fine. I like washing dishes at home. And it's embarrassing to leave our plates-"
"Embarrassing? I should be the one embarrassed." she said as she grabbed the plate I was washing and smiled. "You can take a bath instead, and we'll be heading to the beach." said Ms. Andrea, as we went upstairs to the garden bedroom.
We swam in the backyard pool as a bath and then it was time to choose our clothes. Lexi chose a floral summer-y dress with a scent of roses and vanilla. I picked the dress I brought from home. It was blue and green with white cloth flowers sewn on the top part. After, we went to the backyard garden where we had parked the campervan last night when we got home.
"Let's go, girls!" said Ms. Andrea.
We drove near the mountains, and the view was very beautiful, and we also took pictures of it. We ate some chips and smoothies. Mine was rocky road since the road is rocky, and Lexi ate the fruitberry cheesecake flavor. She also got a brain freeze, again.
"Maybe you should stick to some real fruitberry cheesecake, 'cause your brain will soon be an ice cube if you keep drinking it fast." I suggested her but she refused. "No way! I LOVE a good challenge." She answered as she sipped from the cup.
After a few minutes, we arrived at a beach.
"Here we are. The Regina Giovanna Bath. One of the top rated beaches in Sorrento. It is a bit crowded, but I bet you'll love it still." Ms. Andrea said and shut the door of the campervan and went to the back to help us get out.
"Wow! Oh, no! I forgot my swimsuit." I said worryingly. "Don't worry 'bout that. I knew you didn't brought it, so I got one. I hope you like it. It's purple, if that's okay." She asked and I smiled. "Yeah! Purple's my fave!" I said as she handed me a purple long sleeve swimsuit and long, purple leggings, also for swimming.
"Hey Lexi! Ms. Andrea got me a swimsuit. Did she gave you one, too?" I asked while she's still sipping her smoothie. "Nope, cause I already had it in the campervan. I told her I want to show you this place first, that's why I already prepared it inside ol' Jenny. I also want to give you the BEST Italian experience while you're here." She answered, and my heart melted. We went downhill to the beach and it's pretty awesome. I haven't swam for AGES, and I missed swimming.
As soon as we got to the beach, the people all cheered and gave a clean pathway for Andrea. She is a popular singer in Rome and Venice, and she doesn't often show up that much here in Sorrento. That's why the people are excited to see her in person, and in close up.
"Hey, who's that girl?" I heard a guy on the pool area whisper. "Are you like, born yesterday? That's Alyssa Welles and Lexi Dave! They're from the Star's Club in Hollywood and from #TheStarPlaylist in YouTube." I also heard a teenage girl answer.
"Oh yeah!"
Suddenly, there was some teenagers and kids cheering "Alyssa!! Lexi!! Whohoo!!"
"Guess you also have fans." said Ms. Andrea. We showered first then we dived into the water. Surprisingly, Lexi dived smoothly in to the water and made a mermaid-like jump outward the water. And I wasn't also expecting that, after these years, I still know how to swim.
"Ok gente! Oggi abbiamo tre ospiti speciali EXTRA: La nostra amata, Andrea Damson, Alyssa Welles e la sua amica, Lexi Dave!" the DJ announced. Luckily, I understood what he said.
"Ciao gente! Ciao ai turisti. Ti stai godendo questa estate? Penso che lo siate tutti. Oggi avremo un evento speciale, per celebrare la prima avventura italiana di Alyssa Welles e della sua amica Lexi Dave." Ms. Andrea announced and everyone cheered.
Lexi and I went up the stage and I was SOOOO nervous. We weren't ready for this. I thought that we were only going to swim and have fun. We didn't prepare for this kind of thing!!!
"Everyone, please prepare yourselves for The Star's Club!!!" she added when we got up.
"Umm...ciao. Sono Alyssa Welles. Questa è la mia amica, Lexi Dave. Ci piace cantare e-" I started talking then Ms. Andrea interrupted me. "Did she just said 'singing'? Can you give us a sample of your favourite hobby?" she butted in. C'mon! How could things get worse?!!!
"Se mai ti troverai bloccata nel bel mezzo dell'oceano,
navigherò attorno al mondo per trovarti.
Se mai ti troverai persa nell'oscurità e non riuscirai a vedere,
sarò la luce che ti guiderà." (Lexi's part)
Si scopre di cosa siamo fatti,
quando un nostro amico ci chiama in aiuto. (my part)
Puoi contare su di me, e in 1, 2, 3,
io sarò lì. (Lexi's part)
E so che quando ne avrò bisogno,
potrò contare su di te, e in 4, 3, 2,
tu sarai qui. (my part)
ooooooh, ooohh, yeah yeah." (duet)
After the song, the crowd went wild!!! They loved it!! Even though the tourists didn't understand the words, they knew the title of the song because of the tune. Guess this is indeed the greatest Italian adventure.
When we got home, I finally got the courage to tell the "thought" to Lexi.
"Lex, there's something I need to tell you." I started.
"What is it?" she answered. She looked pretty ear-opened.
"Ok. Remember when we were in Fauno? Well, I saw you texting with your mom, and I was very curious, that my brain started giving me nightmares. Please don't be mad I meddled on your conversation." I said sadly. But to my surprise, she smiled.
"Hmm. Well, I guess you're going to know about it anyway." she said and explained the whole thing. "My mom wants me to be a princess, so she hired a royal tutor to teach me the "ways". But I don't really like it. This is all I can tell you for now, but don't worry. I'll tell you all about my life once I know you're ready." she hugged me and slept. I smiled and at least I know a clue about her life.
