Chapter 13: The Nameless Blade
"Rise" i said softly and on cue i know that 5 shadows rises and formed into humans.
I held the spear on my hands tighter and twirls it lazily and relaxes my stance and sharpen my hearing.
"Begin" and then the five human shadows started attacking me.
The shadows doesn't have any smell and their movements were silent so it's very hard to sense them, i tug on my blindfold lightly and flips when i felt the energy of one of my shadows trying to attack me on my side.
I used my spear to block the sword behind me and pushes the shadow and kicks the other one on my side, i keep doing the same actions, blocking, pushing and counters.
When i felt that one of my shadows ready pounce on me i immediately reacted and crouch and dash towards him with my spear ready to slice him
It wasn't expecting me to use offense so i successfully attacked it.
And four shadows left.
Twirling the spear in my hands i switch it towards my other hand and using the back to hit the shadow sneaking an attack behind me and turn around and swings the blade towards it, leaving me three more shadows.
I made a sudden split when i felt both of them attack me both sides, this form is difficult for a block so i immediately closes my legs on rolls away avoiding another attach and swept of the other shadow on his feet and made a flip to stand.
I kick the incoming shadow and turn around and swings my spear to the one behind me and kicks the head to the one beside me suddenly i felt my hand was kick causing me to let go of the spear.
I did a flip to avoid the shadow's attack and held the blade that was about to hit me and kicks the shadow's stomach causing it to let go of the sword, using the sword i cut the shadow's head and throws it to the incoming shadow.
And i know i pierced it because the presence of all the shadows vanish.
I lazily removes the blindfold and stared at the owner of incoming footstep.
"You've been working hard as always Ezu, why don't you be a dear and pick up some groceries again?"
I resist the urge to pout and nods my head defeated.
"Here's the list" he showed me a paper and i immediately went near him and accepted it, he pats my head and gently nudges me to go on which i comply.
It's been a month since i met lady lilith's friends and hadley...
Hadley, she never change, her temper is still short when her plans aren't working but i wonder why she's only targeting three males?
I mean it's not like she's targeting many males it's just that in our previous world, she's very obsess with popularity and her reputation so every boys in our school admires her and she would entertain them.
Not like inappropriate entertaining i mean to say talk to them and hang out with them.
But now those three doesn't even look at like how the boys in our world looks at her.
The prince sees her as a tool... Everytime the prince stares at her his eyes would twinkle like finding a gem to polish, display and boast.
The prince's knight sees her as a potential ally... The way his eyes would land at her it would scream respect and expectation, it's as if he found someone that would stand beside him yet behind the person he's loyal to.
The one with blue hair, the brother is a bit disturbing... His eyes whenever lands at her sparkles into obsession, i don't think it's because of passion but it looks like obsession to a subject, like a scientist that found he's own test subject.
Thankfully those three doesn't stare at my lady like that, they sees lady lilith as an acquaintance, just like that.
I should make lady lilith stay away from them... Yes! I should do that.
"Hey little miss" i snap out of my thoughts and stared at the person calling me... It's a messy looking merchant with shabby carriage i made a ow yet long strides towards him making him smile wider.
He might looking suspicious because of his rag clothes and thing long beard and hair but his eyes screams cleverness,
His posture is sloppy and he's slouching but i could see a bit of elegance and powerful aura hidden around him.
I didn't point out his excuse of a disguise and just stand in front of him, staring at his eyes with bored face.
"May i know your reason for calling me, assuming that it was I"
His smile widen more and pats me, i didn't flint and just stared at his hand back to his eyes.
I saw a flash of admiration before its gone if i was a normal person i would conclude that it was just my imagining... But i was certain i saw it.
"You lile a warrior to me" he started and i beamed lightly
"Thank you it's an honour to be called that, i planned to become a knight and my father already accepted my proposal"
He nods in understanding and went to find something inside his carriage.
"I have a grandson the same age as you and you both have the same attitude however that child was very cold and not cute at all, here it's not lile those expensive blades but i only have this to give to you"
I didn't hesitate to accept the weapon he handed me... It's a japanese sword called katana and it's dirty and coated with mud.
I gently wipes the sheath and pulled the katana a bit and stared blankly at the rusty blade.
"Do you not like it" i close it and weight it in my hand before staring at the man lazily.
"No, i won't say that i like it but i won't say i didn't like it... The blade is light and it'll fit my hand when i grow.." He stared at me warmly and plays with his beard.
"But it's broken" my eyebrow raises and i didn't retorted anything and just did the church's bow
"Thank you for the gift, i shall continue my errand"
"Oh? Okay take care little miss" i simply nod and walk away.
Broken... I don't think it's broken it just need a little polish and wash then it'll be useful.
All things can be useful from valuable items to broken things, it just need someone to take care of it.
I stop in front of the fruit store and stared at the vendor when he notice me he immediately smiled and handed me a basket of fruits and pats my head.
I did the same to the other stores, when i reach to the last one the lady watching over the products seems to notice the katana i'm holding and stared at me in confusion.
"Where did you get that Ezu?"
I smiled lazily and shifted the stuffs i'm holding.
"It's a gift from a merchant, it's free so i couldn't decline" she smiled and puts the box of green veggies on my head and lightly pinches my cheek.
"Be careful with it okay? You might hurt yourself"
I smiled as a sign that i understood and made my way back to the church.
On my way back to the church i accidently bump someone causing the veggies on my head to fall i stared at the falling vegetables and at the items on my hand.
"I'm sorry, i wasn't looking where in was going" i bows my head as an apology to the boy and he just waves his hand. And picks up the falling pieces.
"I'm sorry too" my eyes widen slightly when i heard his voice angelic cold voice.
I composes my self and tried to help him .
"It's fine i'll do it" i complied and observes his silver hair, his hair is very familiar it's like I've seen it somewhere.
Ah.. Yeah i did.. When i was 5, i saw a boy with the same hair, are they the same person?
He stood up eith the box and carefully placed it on my head that's when i fully sees his face, and i was right they were the same person.
Silver hair that seems to sparkle, gently dancing with the wait and look like it's so smooth and fluffy. A pair of cold grayish silver eyes that seems like pulling you in a abyss, they were so enchanting and deep.
I snap out of my thought when i felt his fingers softly caresses my cheeks i lean in on instinct causing the vegetable to lean too.
I stared dazedly at his hands that stops the box from falling out and softly sigh.
"I- i'm sorry, then i shall be on my w-way" ah i stuttered.
I hum and was about to walk away when he spoke.
"I found you"
"Huh?" I stared at him confuse but he just stared at me and smiled and shakes his head as a no.
I hum and smiled before leaving him.
Strangely... I felt very relax in his presence.
