The next morning Kat slowly opened his eyes in his bed to find Vixi, back in her human form sitting next to his bed with tear stained eyes and cheeks. Something was wrong yah she could be crying because he was wounded but not this much. No something else was wrong, something that for some reason he just couldn't seem to figure out.
Then almost as if hit with a wave of flood waters the memory and emotions all hit at once. He wasn't the only one wounded in the battle. In fact the other person was his sister Katherine, and last he'd heard she was dead.
Why? Why did she die and not him? Why was she the one to get hit by the bullet? Why wasn't he fast enough? Why was all of this happening?
Just then the door slowly opened and Val entered still in his battle armor before setting his rifle to the side. He looked first at Vixi and then to Kat before slowly walking across the room and standing next to Vixi before placing a hand on Kat's leg and removing his helmet.
