The sky remained dark as it reached the peak of midnight. Lucian groaned slightly as he slowly sat up, he was just awakening and he had only been asleep for a few hours.
The candles Katherine had lit had already blown out seeing as the balcony had been left open, only the small fire in the fireplace had kept going. The night was rather cold making the floor cool to the touch as Lucian placed his feet on the ground.
Lucian grabbed onto the bed frame as he slowly made his way to the mirror, though the room was dark, his red eyes could easily see through the darkness.
The few hours he had spent resting had been more than enough to grant him his strength back. The red lines striped across his back meant the wounds on his back had healed, though the skin remained sensitive to touch.
