Katherine used her cutlery, slowly cutting up the tiniest piece of meat on her plate. Lucian had predicted correctly when he told her that it would be some time before dinner was served.
She had finished most of the fruits the maids had brought for her long before the main course was served.
Everyone at the dining table had indulged in light chatter, all except Lucian who sat at the end, leaning into his chair looking over his subjects like a King.
Lucian's attention shifted to the absent-minded brunette, "What is it you want?" He said blatantly, ignoring the subtle looks across the table as some attempted to listen to Lucian speak to the human.
