Lucian waited a few seconds, enough to give her a good head start, then he took off after her.
Katherine had gone a fair distance across the field but by the time she turned back, Lucian was gaining on her. She looked ahead and realized she was approaching the end of the field, but instead of stopping the horse, she continued into the forest.
It wasn't long until Lucian caught up with her causing her to slow completely.
Katherine was slightly out of breath but she let out a small laugh when she looked at Lucian riding beside her. She hadn't expected him to catch up with her so quickly. "I never stood a chance, did I?" She breathed out.
