Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

From the Nora's Board of Logophile

Rubatosis

The unsettling awareness of one's own heartbeat.

===========================

Wilson closed the door with a click. A few minutes later a red-haired girl entered. Her smile had a radiance brighter than the sun.

" Hello Lu... Madam. I am Ukiyo, meaning sad world. I will be your personal maid until the stay. " Ukiyo said happily, joy was jumping clearly on her eyes.

Sad world...

Rosalind blinked at the contradiction between her name and her temperament that she didn't notice Ukiyo's mistake.

"Hello, I am Rosalind. You could call me Rose." Rosalind gave her a tight smile.

"Ah... Yes, Lu... Madam Rose. " Ukiyo bite her tongue at her mistake. Hoping that Rosalind did not notice her mistake. Well Rosalind was too busy to notice anything.

Ukiyo then gestured to her to lead to the room. Rosalind bowed her head while following Ukiyo. They arrived after a few minutes.

The room was unlike the architecture of the house, and was a fusion of modern and victorian style. There were no paintings like on the corridor, instead a simple white hand clock was hung on the black painted wall. The theme was black and grey, with a queen sized bed on the centre covered with black lace bed curtains. A glass door opposite to the entrance led to a balcony. A wide spaced balcony, that was wider than her own bed room, was adorned with a hanging garden and the view of the widespread jungle.

Ukiyo took out a royal blue sweatshirt and a black sweatpant, which seemed pretty feminine, and glanced at her as if asking her for her opinion to which she gave a curt nod and extended her arms for the approval.

She moved to the bathroom, which was big as everything she had come across in this house. A kind of relief and the drops of the shower hit her skin washing away the tardiness. She used whatever product was in the drawer. After the wash she pretty much smelled the same as Wilson, which made her smile unconsciously.

She wrapped the towel in her hair and robe on her body as she exited the bathroom. She found that Ukiyo was waiting for her with a cup of coffee ☕. And the aroma told her that it was the same as she preferred.

"Madam Rose, your coffee. 2 shots no milk added, no sugar added. With a spoon of salt " Ukiyo said with a smile.

"How do you know I like my coffee, this way? " Rosalind was surprised that her guess was correct.

"Al... Master Wilson specially made the coffee with his own hand. I just watched how he made" Ukiyo bite her tongue at the mistake before continuing on her usual cheerful tone.

Rosalind blinked at her response. Though she had noticed Ukiyo's mistake, she ignored them considering if they were caused due to her bubbliness. The thing that made her baffled was how Wilson knew about her drinking habits. Only a few people were aware of her coffee preference which includes her, her siblings and the café barista she visited often.

She didn't even know when and why she started having salt in the coffee, she just knew the bitterness multiplied by the salt in the coffee was the Sweetest heaven for her. The taste gives her a nostalgic vision which can not remember even if she tried to. She felt that maybe it was her weird obsession. She never thought too much about this matter and even though she tried to, she always ended up with a dead end and an empty cup.

She sat on the chair in the balcony while sipping the coffee as Ukiyo excused herself to give her space. The taste of the coffee tantalized her taste bud. Even though she tried to make herself the cup like this she couldn't. It feels as if she was waiting for this taste. It was bitter but sweet, an unknown feeling surged on her heart. A wet tear slipped off her brown eyes, followed by other unconscious tears. She was surprised. Those tears didn't symbolize any sadness, but a kind of unsettling rubatosis in her heart. She had to ask Wilson about the recipe.

She wiped off the tears and changed into the comfortable wear left by Ukiyo. Right after she completed, a knock came which she positively answered. The door opens revealing the cheerful Ukiyo. She even doubts she has any other faces.

"Madam, the lunch is ready. " Ukiyo's smile only widened as she informed her.

"hmm..." Rosalind only hummed as the answer before gesturing Ukiyo to lead the way.

"Madam Rose, why don't you chat much? You cou......" Ukiyo babbled all the way from the corridor to the dinner room. Even Ukiyo's initial intention was to get closer to her Luna, but she was so caught up with her talk that she forgot why she tried to start a conversation.

Whereas Rosalind was observing the walls of the way. paintings of various sceneries were hung on the wall, while soaking in the environment, a warm hand snaked around her waist to pull her back. Her back bumped with a warm solid chest. A woodsy smell mixed with the spices' fragrance tantalized her senses. She ducked in a sheer amount of air from her nose and held her breath as much as she could. Her heart was ready to burst out from her ribcage, thumping so violently. But only one name was buzzing on her mind, Wilson.

"You look lovely, Maya." Wilson's whisper wetted her ear. The endearment honorific he used to address her no longer bothered her. Even though she did not know the real meaning of the word, it had always warmed up her heart. And she didn't bother to correct him anymore.

"Emmmm... " Her voice pitched differently than she meant to, "Thank you. " She coughed as her neck flushed with a lovely shade of red which creeped its way to her cheeks.

Their position was really ambiguous. She wasn't used to such affection. Her family was moving constantly since she was little. She had never a chance to either make friends or any trustable acquaintance, have contact with opposite sexuality really seems distant. But right now the problem was not her past experience with boys but the strange seedling growing on her heart, a certain kind of warmness, which she had never felt. The tension between them, the gravity she felt between them, she wondered if Wilson was also feeling the same. She wished he felt. She wanted to form a relationship not based upon a piece of paper but through a genuine affection. 'Is it really possible with him?' She wondered. Wait! What is she thinking?! She didn't want to have any relation with him remember??? The sudden realization of her wandering thoughts led her cheeks glow with light shade of pink.

Wilson was more than happy. His happiness could be seen from his eyes. His wolf was as joyous as it could ever be . He still wished to have more than just a back hug, maybe her naked body sprawling under him or their body slapping as she ride him. His wolf let out a growl to those carnal imaginations. But he knew that time hadn't come yet. Though he wanted to make her his more than anything else. He also knew that she shouldn't feel any pressure on such things. He needs patience even though it's really killing him and his wolf. His wolf growled at such antics. 'Why would you imagine such things if you can't do it.😑😑'

"Did you hear something? " Rosalind's voice snapped him from his thoughts.

"No... what did you hear? "

"a growl. Something animalistic... Can't put the name of the animal. "

"... Wolf?? "

"Yeah! More like a wolf! It was loud enough. Didn't you hear it? "

"No, but it's not surprising. There are wolves everywhere. But you don't need to worry they won't hurt you in any way... "

"wha... " Rosalind's attempt to ask the reason was cut off by a knock followed by Jason. The butler who was strangled by Rosalind yesterday.

Jason said, "They are here. "

"Hmmm... Let them in."

Jason gave a curt nod before disappearing behind the doors. Rosalind gave a curious look to Wilson.

"Your gift." Wilson answered Rosalind's curious gaze.
