When we reach the gates of the kingdom several guards come out to greet us. Witcher tells them our business and we walk into the gates on horseback, walking through the old gravel streets. It seems as though all pairs of eyes are watching us make our way to the castle. Several men are watching Witcher more closely than I'd like. It makes me angry and uneasy. I pull the reins on titan so he walks closer to angus. If I wanted to I could reach out and grab her by the waist, pulling her away from any crazy men. She frowns.
"What is it your majesty?" She whispers. Anger fills my head.
"Call me that again and I'll turn around and walk away. It's just you and me it doesn't matter right now call me by my name."
"What is it your-Damien." She whispers a little louder.
"I don't trust anyone here. Nor should you, we get in and out." I mumble. The tall broad shouldered king awaits us at the front of the castle. He grins seeing us arrive and ushers two young guards to take our horses. We dismount and the horses are tied less than one hundred meters away.
"Welcome Witcher, and your majesty. I was not expecting you prince damien." He says smiling. He grins moving in toward Witcher-god I wish I knew her name- and smiles.
"Welcome Witcher. I assume you are here on your King's business." He says kissing both of her cheeks. She looks uneasy but answers
"Yes your highness, unfortunately we will need to leave tonight this business is urgent and the info I came for is needed back before tomorrow." He nods moving even closer. My hand slips under my cloak to my sheathed sword.
"Um. Your highness, might we please collect the information and be on our way." She whispers. He grins wickedly. He wraps his arms tightly around her, pressing his lips to her neck and gripping her breast. I launch forward grabbing him from the back of the head and jerking him to the ground. She looks shocked, a single tear falls from her eye. I want to hold her, to tell her that we could leave and it wouldn't ever happen again. But I knew I couldn't. I just assaulted a king. I unhook my belt letting my sword fall and dropping to my knees. I pray they'll at least let Witcher go after they kill me. I can't imagine what he would do when I'm gone. This angers me, not being able to be there for her. Fear flames in her eyes, she jumps out reaching for me as a guard lifts his sword to slice though my neck.
"Damien!" She screams.
"Halt!" Comes another voice. The king smiles looking to Witcher.
"She cares for the man. We won't kill him." He says.I growl as he steps closer to her.
"No I won't kill him." The guards lift me up.
"Beat him in the square. Until he can't walk."
Witcher shrieks calling for her staff but five guards have it pinned to the ground. They drag me to the square, I hear Witcher shuffle alongside the king behind me. They shove her onto the stage, two guards in between her. The king laughs.
"You can have one minute." He says cackling. Two guards tear away my cloak and shirt, clipping my hands against a metal pole.
She sprints over.
"Damien." She whispers holding my face in her hands. "Damien what do I do?!" She sounds terrified.
"Get out of here. Take angus and run as soon as I'm dead." I whisper. "I-I" did it really matter if I told her now that I'd be dead in an hour anyway? "I-I love you to much to die without knowing you'd be safe." I whisper. One hand holds my face as the other rests on my shoulder.
"You won't die. Promise me on your honor you won't die." She whispers. I nod my head.
"I promise." I whisper.
"Times up." The guards growl dragging her back. A tall blonde soldier walks forward with a whip in hand.
"Ive never beaten a prince. This should be fun." He says with a laugh. He raises the whip bringing it down with full force against my back. I grunt arching my back. The sheer pain of it makes me wish they had killed me already. I think of Witcher. No I couldn't want to die. That's what they wanted. I had a promise to keep. It cracks against my back again. And again. I feel my eyes burning with tears, I can see a pool of red surrounding me. Pain radiates from my back. Pain I never thought was possible to feel before now. I think of Witcher again, trying to stay strong for her. The blood is dripping down my shoulders now. I can feel myself about to faint. I hear Witcher sobbing, and I know I'm going to die. I try to feel my love for her, try to make her feel it. She screams for her staff again this time it frees itself landing into her hand. She screams smashing it into the ground everyone freezes as electricity shoots out from the ground cracking it all over. She runs to me still using her powers to keep them frozen. I can tell it's draining her. She uses magic to force open the locks. Her staff quickly hoists me up and Launches me onto Titan. She mounts on angus and takes off. I can't see anything, blood is everywhere, I turn to see her still using her magic, it's a different spell. Most likely memory loss. It wasn't safe for her to use so much magic, most Witcher's couldn't even make one person loose one single memory without days of spell casting. She was erasing the memory of a whole kingdom. The horses ride to the castle, led by her staffs magic. Hours pass, and I can feel myself about to die. She coughs releasing the spell and stumbling off her horse. She screams for help. The guards come quick all I see is her collapsing to the ground, Coughing a ton and gasping for air. My lights go out.
