Chapter 86 - DISTANCE

NARRATOR'S POV

The dawn finally ended and so was the chaos brought by the carnivorous clan of Sawney Bean- the once reddish golden rays of the sun is now a light shade of yellow. Even the once cold and moist air of dawn changed into the dry and warm air that comes with the midday sun.

The knights also finished cleaning up the scene- the bodies were taken away, the huts were burned down and the remaining survivors were captured. They will be taken to the capital, where they will be sentenced and most likely will be executed for their crimes.

Finally regaining his composure, Brennan mounted the horse that was prepared by the knights- as a sign of gratitude for their unforeseen service to the king. The young man remained silent, it was obvious that he is still out of it. No one could blame him of course, he just found out that he consumed human flesh- even a person with an iron gut will take some repercussion.
