Later that day, Trish came to hang out at my place, so we came home together. I was still shocked over Trish's brother and I was planning to tell her that 'grey eyes' is her brother.
Once we entered the house, I met my mom at home which was surprising.p
"Hey mom." I greeted her but she didn't answer me.
"Hey Mrs Colton." My mother's head snapped towards to the direction of Trish voice and she quickly put on her fake smile.
"Hey Trisha. Wow I love your hair. How was school today?" She asked still smiling.
"It was fine Mrs Colton and thank you"
"Oh Trisha, how many times do I have to tell you that you should call me Helen. Mrs Colton makes me feel old."
"I'm sorry Mrs Col..... Helen" Trisha quickly said.
"So you girls go upstairs and have fun and I will bring some snacks upstairs okay?"
"Yes Helen."
"Yes mom." Trish and I said together.
When my mom and Trish were exchanging words I was just staring at my mom and how she was behaving with Trish.
She has never behaved that way to me since Lucy's death.
This is how she always behaves whenever Trish or any guest comes for a visit. She puts on a fake attitude and behaves all motherly to me.
"Wow. Ash your mom seems nicer every time I visit." Trish said on the way to my room.
"Yeah she is." I muttered.
If only you knew.
We get to my room and Trish slumps on my bed sighing.
"Oh god, I had a rough day today." Trish said tiredly.
"You just came from school Trish, not a war." I said as I was getting ready to shower.
"You do not know what I go through everyday in that hell hole of a school ." she said dramatically.
"Yeah yeah sure. Chill here while I go shower okay?" I said as I was entering into my bathroom.
"It's not like I'm going anywhere anyway."
A while later, I came out dressed in my grey sweatpants and a pink top and I left my hair down to air dry. My mom was entering my room with a try filled with a bowl of fruit salad and two tall glasses of chilled orange juice.
"Here you girls go." She said as she placed the snack on my reading table.
"Thanks mom."
"Anytime sweetie." She said smiling.
Oh my god
Sweetie?
Am I dreaming right now?
Or did my mom just call me sweetie???
Wow the world must be coming to an end.
"Ashley, I have to quickly stop at the boutique. So if you need anything, just call me and I dropped some cash on the counter for pizza, in case I don't come home early for dinner okay?"
"Sure mom"
As if we have dinner together anymore.
"Okay bye." She said sweetly as she started for the door.
"Bye mom."
"Bye Helen."
"Bye kids." She said as she closed the door.
"Hey Ash? Where's Tyler? It's has been a while since have seen him".
I paled as she said those words.I slowly turned to her from the fruit salad.
"Well....um...um...well..he's not currently home."
She doesn't know
She doesn't know
She doesn't know
I kept repeating it to myself. Her eyebrows shot up in confusion and I quickly added
"He's probably at his girlfriend's house or something like that."
"Oh. Okay then." She said believing my story.
"So did you see Caleb staring at you today?" I asked quickly changing the subject.
"Really?" She asked excitedly.
"Yeah. But Trish you do know what kind of guy Caleb is right?" I asked her with concern."That guy plays girls like he plays basketball. And he really loves to play basketball."
"Yeah I know, and he sure looks like my next mistake." She said quietly and my head snapped from the fruit I was eating to Trish.
Did she just?
No she didn't.
"Did you just quote Taylor swift?" I asked her with a smile.
"Oops I guess I did." She said and we both stared at each other before we burst into fists of laughter.
After we both calmed down, I remembered something.
"Hey Trish?" I said catching her attention.
"Yeah?"
"Remember the grey eyes guy I told you about?"
"Yeah?"
"Well he's ...." I was interrupted by Trish phone ringing.
"Hold up one sec." She said holding one finger up as she took her phone out from her bag.
"Hello?" She paused.
"Yeah....."
"I'm at Ash's place..."
"No you can't come..."
"I said nooooooo...."
"I would be there..."
"Give me fifteen minutes okay..."
"Yeah sure. Bye. That was my dumb brother saying he wants to come for a visit. I got to go. We are having guest over and my mom wants me to come help her set up." She said as she got up to leave.
"Okay sure."
"Call you later then?" She asked as she walked down the stairs.
"Yeah sure." I replied.
"Bye." She waved as she walked out of the door.
"Bye." I waved back.
Looks like I will have tell her later then.
I thought as I went up the stairs.
