"What taken you so long,"
Martha looked over at Maxien's back as she hacked into the warehouse, Maxine glanced at Martha and noticed a small patch of fog far behind them. She remembered the shadow Blake once had... it's familiar,
"It's been two years since anyone has used it, give it some time," Maxine said
"You and I both know they have this place watched. it won't be long before they show up," Martha told her,
Maxine scoffed at this, putting her station back on and hacking into the warehouse while Martha looked around them and saw the remains of the mafia's stronghold, with meat stuck in the ground rusted with a fog… wait. Martha saw the fog glow red while a small whisper came from it,
"You must hurry. They know of your whereabouts,"
Martha tried to walk to the fog, but the door flew open with the help of Maxine pushing it, She looked over at Martha before walking to her, grabbing her hand.
"We need to go,"
They went into the warehouse with the fog watching over them.
"They have been there for two hours,"
Marcello saw them entering the warehouse and already got his gear next to him, Damien stood next to him glaring at the projection while Salvatore was on the phone in one ear telling his team to look into the break-in.
"What would be in there for?" Marcello mutter
Marcello stayed in his spot while the voice around seemed to fade, he tried to remember what would be in there, they took almost all of their thing, the cloning tubs the blueprint, and their past deals. What more could there be?
"Yes I want them to be knocked out, they could help us in some way. Yes, that goodbye,"
Salvatore ended the call and noticed the fog drawing near the warehouse, he looked back at Marcello and Damien, Marcello was leaning over the projection into a lab that he had shown to Salvatore after the incident, he saw the dote head towards the lab while the fog went onto the roof, following them.
"Marcello, that's the lab you and Avalon fought Blake," Salvatore said
"Yes,"
Marcello moved away from the projection and turned to Damien, he then said, "How many of our team is healed?"
"They still need time,"
"If need be, take Jacob's team with you," Salvatore said
Salvatore went around the table in front of them pointed at the dots, leaned on the table,
"That was who you were talking to?" Damien asked
"It was and when Luke is done with the crystals you can check on the warehouse,"
"Sal there won't be much time for this, they will have what they came for by then," Damien spoke
"What choice do we have? The shadow is out there with them and with what it has just done to your team. I will not allow you to go alone, not without something to protect yourselves from it,"
"There's no time for that Salvatore," Marcello intervened
He turned to Marcello and saw that the dots stopped at the lab with the fog entering through the windows, the dots were in an area that they had just discovered a day ago. it was full of documents of the past head. Blake's time as the don and what the deals with the government they had, but also a blood veil with a silver clover engraved on it.
They didn't get it all out before Avalon became the main concern, but they seemed to get the blood veil out that Marcellos acknowledged, Salvatore went to the door and opened it before glancing back at them,
"We need to get there now. You are right, Marcello, this time."
He was about to walk out, but Liz stopped him with Jacob with her. She held out a piece of the crystal to Salvatore,
"This is what we have for now, we will have to wait for some more,"
Salvatore grabbed it checking it over, it still the glow however the iridescent shine to it was brighter. Damien and Marcello went to Jacob asking,
"When will your team be ready?"
"I would give two for the time they were given. I don't want to ask how they would be effective with that piece of work Blake has," Jacob said
"They would be knocked out with nightmares. But it won't matter,"
Marcello saw that Salvatore gave the crystal back to Liz and thought,
"She got that from Avalon,"
"When will the next batch be?" Salvatore asked
"I would give it twenty minutes sir. it is very hard to split them apart without losing the light within them," Liz said
"Then I will..."
"That was from Avalon, wasn't it?"
Marcello stood next to her, staring down at the crystal. Liz let out a huff before saying, "Yes it was. There wasn't a choice in that matter,"
"We know what is still in the lab and it is the blood veil that was left,"
"They would be there for that," Liz explained
Damien placed his hand on Marcello's shoulder with a look in his eyes,
"I will get the car,"
Damien let go of him towards the parking lot, which is near the research lab. Jacob let out a sigh before rushing to catch up with Damien, saying, "I'll go with him,"
They watched Jacob leave until Marcello stared back at Liz, holding his hand out to take the crystal, She glanced at her boss who nodded at this, and she gave it to him.
"Avalon, how was she after this?"
"She was drained, but when she finished making the crystal she fell on the bed, fainted."
Marcello hummed, placing the crystal in his shirt pocket, he looked over at Salvatore,
"You'll be needed at communications,"
"I'll be there, Liz I will need help,"
"I will be there sir but I have to check back in with Luke," Liz said
A car horn could be heard with footstep followed by it, they turned around the corner, Ally and Luke holding two more crystals, but they were dimmer than the one Avalon made.
"We have them!"
"Are you sure about this, Maxine?"
Martha and Maxine walked past the broken walls and glass, Maxine kept looking for the door that Blake showed her before he fell, he told her of the blood he got from Avalon having a weird effect on his body but also making clones. Most of them have been killed, but there are roomers of one living in the forest near a house,
"I'm sure Martha... there must be a reason," Maxine answered
"What would that be?" Martha asked
Maxine didn't bother to talk with her further but moved to the next hallway, Martha cursed under her breath before following the thought of Blake's last talk, she didn't notice the fog that was seeping in through the windows moving towards her.
"Martha, how is the dealing with the recruits going?" Blake asked
Martha looked over the papers in her arms before looking up at Blake,
"Some of them have already been killed but what was left is..."
Blake turned to her,
"Better than expected?"
"Not necessarily, but it's better than nothing,"
She walked to him, showing him the papers they had been getting from their dealing,
She pointed at one of the names on the paper,
"Isn't she apart from the old capo?"
"Yes, she was... Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Martha,"
"I want more information on her before the end of today," Blake said
"Of course, sir," Martha responded,
Martha brought the papers to her chest and was about to walk away, but Blake reached out grabbing her arm, stopping her, Martha looked at him and saw the look in his eyes. She has only seen that after Avalon broke out of the warehouse,
"I want you to be ready for what might happen, Martha. I do not know what will happen with Shepard haunting my every move," Blake seethed,
"I have already warned Maxine for the time being, but you will have to be there for her,"
"Why?"
"Because one of you will kill them for me if I die,"
He grabbed her hand and told her, "Do this for me,"
Martha held her hand to her chest having her eyes closed, she could be there again having time to revert. But she opened her eyes having an odd wind blow past her while Maxine yelled out,
"Hey, I found it!"
Martha looked in her direction and went to Maxine, she caught a glimpse of a fog while running in the hallway where Maxine was standing, Martha stopped laying her hand on Maxine breathing out, " What did you find?"
Maxine brushed Martha's hand off before pointing at a door that seemed to be broken into.
"This is the door he mentioned," Maxine told her
Maxine walked into the room while Martha asked her,̉ "Mentioned? Maxine, what did he tell you?"
"He told me of this room it had some of his stuff in here, documents, agreements, pictures, and some type of blood," Maxine said
Martha followed after her and saw that the room looked almost cleared out, the papers that he told them to place gone, and the records of their research were missing, Maxine went around the room looking into some shelves, muttering something under her breath.
"It has to be here,"
"Maxine, what are we looking for?" Martha inquired
Maxine closed the shelf and glanced over at Martha, knowing fully well that she would not like to hear it.
"You won't like it Martha," Maxine uttered
She went to the other side of the room looking around the other shelves, Martha walked up to her as Maxine tried to open the shelf she stopped placing her hand on it.
"I want to hear it anyway,"
"There is a veil of Avalon's blood in this room,"
Martha felt stunned to hear this, however, she knew there must have been more than what Blake had told her, Maxine moved her hand away looking through the shelf while Martha huffed in frustration.
"It's her blood… I thought he used it all for the government deals he made," Martha thought,
Maxine huffed in anger, slamming the second shelf, making it shake while she went into the next one, She pulled it open and saw that there was paper in it almost like it was covering something. While Maxine looked through the paper, Martha watched her before the door shut closed with a fog in the room, making them not see.
"Maxine have you found it yet!" Martha yelled
"I would if this fog wasn't blinding me!"
She was moving her hand in the drawer finding only paper until she felt a smooth object touch her thum, Maxien tried to look down for it but the fog didn't let her see it but a silver shimmer came from the veil helping her. She grabbed it and pulling it out,
"Martha I have it let's get out of here,"
A muffled voice came from behind her, Maxien placed the veil in her pocket and then slowly turned to them, the fog was shaped into a man holding Martha from behind her and looking at her with red glowing eyes.
"I believe you have something I need,"
Martha reached out for Maxien but she moved away with the fog swirling around them, Blake scoffed before moving his hand up.
"Maxine,"
She looked at him stunned thinking, "How could this be? we heard from rompers, however, it wasn't possible,"
"Give me the veil,"
Maxine didn't move from her spot not believing it was him, she let out a laugh,
"I can't believe this. You supposed to be dead," Maxien said
"Yes I was..."
Blake dropped Martha who backed away from them, watching them all the while, He looked over at her pocket sensing the blood from the veil. it hasn't lost its energy.
"I will only tell you once more. give me the blood,"
