Chapter 72 - Chapter 71 The End Time

"Dammit!"

Blake fell onto his back holding his face, he felt heat radiate off his face to his chest burning with such intensity that it was taking longer to heal, He heard movement coming from Avalon causing him to try to get up, only for his body to give up on him leaving him to lean against a broken cement block staring at her.

Blake watched her in the air an iridescent light around her shifting on her skin making her look angelic, Avalon opened her eyes a dark silver wrapped around her eyes glaring at him almost like stabbing him with her eyes.

"I… Will not be so easily defeated by you," Avalon seethed

He stared at her amused almost stunned and knew the actual length of her power, he just wondered when she would use it. Avalon now stood in front of him, staring down at him before grabbing him by his hair and lifting him to face her, but he laughed.

Avalon watched him indifferent by his laughter, knowing full well what he had turned into, He laughed under his breath and stared at her with intense eagerness.

"This is what I've heard about," Blake said

He breathed out a chuckle, looking away from her before saying,

"The great light to fight the darkness… it happens in books and also in history,

but now it's in front of me… a light greater than the darkness… or so they say,"

Avalon looked at him disturbed and threw his away from her, but Blake landed on his feet,

His eye shifted from green to red until the red took over his eyes.

"This is not my final day it is yours," Blake said

He moves faster than last time at her and he watched her with a cocky smile written on his face, however, Avalon watched him intercept time and Blake found her eyes following him,

whipped his smile off his face, he tried to stop,

Avalon grabbed him before he could move and then pulled him closer to her, Before he could do anything, he felt a great burn on his chest, Avalon punched him causing his skin to burn and making a dent in his chest making his breath shorten,

He moves through the air almost landing, Avalon is there raising her hand before letting a beam at him… he tries to move away but the burnt she left on him wouldn't let him,

It went through his chest, He fell on the ground, coughing out blood and looking up at the skies… before the familiar light above drew him back,

"Do you forfeit?" Avalon asked

Blake glared at her, feeling his energy slowly heal the burns, but Avalon wouldn't seem to let that happen, He needed to stall her if he wanted to make it out alive,

"No, I won't… not like last time," Blake let out

She looked at him a light shined in her eye, but what he said didn't deter her, Therefore she pulled out her sword glowing above him and pointed at his heart,

Blake took a deep breath before letting out,

"At least it's not Ally turning your back on you, but little did you know… I helped her with it all,"

Avalon wasn't deterred, only grabbed him while lifting him to her height,

She pointed the sword at his neck, leaving little breathing room,

"I knew the whole time, Blake. Leave the past be," Avalon said

The sword touches his skin.

"Good," He coughed out

He grabbed her sword,

"That's all I needed,"

"I'm almost there," Marcello said

Marcello runs through the hallway and moves past knocked-out men and women from the invasion, Marcello keeps moving until he hears a voice coming near him, He stops and hid behind one of the crates near him, Their footsteps stop by him talking,

"I heard something I did,"

"Stop we need to go back and barricade the staircase,"

He remembered. That voice was Maxine, He took a glimpse from behind the crate and saw that she had been patched up, through her ribs that had bandages around them, She turned to him making Marcello duck back behind the crate,

"Maxine, they seem to be breaking into the files,"

"That does not matter, he told us to watch the staircase," She scoffed

They hear another pair of footsteps down the hallway and Maxine motion her men forward, they run in front of her aiming their weapons at the hallway, Marcello looks up and watches the men stand until,

"Grenade!"

He watched as smoke went around them, including him, the men tried to keep each other's back but an adversary hid behind them.

"Maxine, what should we do?"

"Stand your ground, we can't let them get thought," Maxien yelled

"Yes, sir…"

They fall from behind and are knocked out by Marcello, He drags him away, while Maxien starts to move away from them as her men start to fall,

"Maxine where?"

They fell knocked out and dragged away until one was left behind, Maxine who was at the other end of the hallway was the last one in his way. Marcello moved behind her, nevertheless, She had another thing coming to her,

A throwing knife is thrown at her and Maxine doesn't notice until a sharp pain hits her chest and all flashes to not, Marcello stands up from behind her while the person who threw it yells out,

"Marcello!"

He remembers that voice, but the smoke made him unable to see him,

"Go to her!"

Marcello looked behind him, finding the staircase nearby, but before he could, something drew back his attention, He could see his brother's figure trying to run to him but stopped but Maxien who took the knife out of her and stabbed his knee,

Marcello was about to run to them when a person behind him dragged the woman off of him,

"Go help Avalon we got it from here," Damien yelled

Marcello turned in the direction of the staircase and ran to it, he heard them fight off Maxien while he ran up the stairs almost to the door and when he made it to the door, he threw it open.

"I will not destroy any more lives, Blake," Avalon said

Blake glared up at her.

The cut she left on his was not healing, and his body started to disobey him by not helping him, giving her the upper hand, Avalon swiped her sword at him landing on his chest and causing him to cry out, She tried again landing a final blow, but Blake gathered enough strength to block her sword with a knife hidden away,

"I will not be killed by you, Avalon, I will see this mafia thought even if I have to kill you!" Blake yelled

He pushed her away from him, only to hit her back with his knife, but Avalon kept her sword high blocking his attack, He kept slashing away at her sword but never grew tired only more bloodthirsty, He started to laugh at this feeling as if new energy surged within him but Avalon felt it too making her energy flow through her sword and making the knife melt away from Blake,

Blake sneered at this throwing his knife away and glaring at her, this time with no malice but energy flowing through him,

"This is better than before, I must thank you after I pull the energy off of your corps," Blake mocked

His voice changed and turned into one of thrill and excitement, this concerned Avalon.

But there is an ending to this, and it won't be for her, She lifted her sword once more before putting energy into her feet and ran at him, she felt as if time stopped for her. when she was within arm's length of him, however, he placed his arms in front of him, an inky black covering them, waiting for her to stick first.

"This is where you admit defeat, love," He ridiculed

Avalon ignored his mockery, only to intensify her light and strike down at him, A flash of light hit his arms even though he tried to put his energy into it… It didn't matter, the light went through his arms, he screamed as Avalon landed in front of him, watching him squirm before attacking him again,

"I... I can't be killed like this!" Blake yells

She raised unlocking her sword again but he didn't know it would cause her to surge in energy, Avalon looked up at him as the light engulfed her, making her of light. Blake felt the heat of the light and scoffed,

He won't let this kill him that so familiar energy consumed him making the dark rival the light,

"What is this?" Blake asked

"A way out of dying,"

A grim voice told him. Blake felt darkness move over him,

"Avalon!"

"Where are you?"

She tried to push herself more, but her body failed her, Avalon felt herself lift into the light until sleep took her over. Time stood still as a beam of light a colorful iridescent mixed with it, but darkness went against it with hints of red within it, As fast as it showed up it went away leaving nothing but pieces of cement and wood in its wake.
