"Boss, may I ask you something?"
I sighed, seeing a light coming closer. It's her, isn't it? The light shines as she does, brilliantly and brightly. My underlings stare at me through the front mirror,
"Fine, what is it that you want to ask me," I said
The climate in the vehicle turns dark showing hints of light coming from outside, My minion keeps stammering trying to ask me a question,
"This is what I have to deal with," I thought
I looked over at her, overseeing her. The light started to come closer to my vehicle,
"S.s..sir, what is with the l…light that's following us?" she asked
I chuckled at this response, "You mean her?" I said, "This seems to pique her interest since she is staring at me." I thought,
"That light is told on an old legend… that light is one of the most vibrant I have ever seen… I miss it," I said
She looks at me through the mirror with wide eyes, they have never really heard me say that for a long time.
"So boss that light b..back there it's an old light or is it s..something else?" She asked
"That is more than an old light!" I said
I sighed while lighting a cigar, looking out the window and watching the vehicles drive by them,
"Look that light is not just that, it's ancient," I said
She looked at me intrigued by my words, I sat there thinking of what I should tell her,
"She is just some thug who needed a house to stay in," I thought
"You d…don. don't have t.t…to tell me," she said
"No, I don't, but it seems that you will find out what it is soon enough," I said
She looks back at me once again before holding one of her ears protecting it, She screams as a load explosion rings through,
"What was that!" she yelled holding the steering wheel tightly,
I turn to see the light coming off a vehicle to my left and behind me to the right, it's shifting. Following even,
"That is an old friend of mine trying to stop what is needed," I said
She keeps steering watching the vehicle with the mayor in it, she gives her boss a side glance, "He's loading his guns," she whispered
"Keep your eyes on the road!" I yelled
She flinched at this on the road seeing the car drifting to the side, She moves it back in place,
I hold the gun in my right hand watching the light move to the car beside us, the light shifts around like it's trying to look for something,
and the light moves around, preparing itself to jump on the car. I put my hand on the driver's seat moving the window down,
"Keep the car straight while I deal with her," I said
I climb onto the vehicle side staring back at her, seeing it look over at me before trying to jump onto the mayor's vehicle Failing to do so, she moves onto the hood of the vehicle looking at the minion tilting her head scarring the driver in the process,
"Boss you might want to.." she yelled
I climb up on the roof of the vehicle, staring at the road and seeing how fast it is. She jumps on the roof looking up at me standing straight, trying to make me look small,
"Who sent you this time?" I asked
The light starts to dissipate around her, showing a stronger woman than I recall. She didn't say a word, only holding her daggers tightly, waiting for me to do something,
"Doesn't matter who sent you, I want you off my back," I said
I shot my guns at her making her… she didn't move, it got crushed somehow. I look at her, bewildered by her,
"How did you do that?"
She glances at me not showing any emotion, She slowly moves toward me keeping her dagger next to her chest and aiming it at me, I keep my gun trained on her watching the vehicles move towards the main base,
"You know that I can't kill you," I said
"Because you haven't tried hard enough," She said
"You're not wrong with that. All I did was knock you out, leaving you to pick yourself up from the ashes," I said
"Don't try my patience with you… I didn't want to come here and fight you," she said
I stopped her from continuing to shoot them near her head, the anger I felt when she left…
"That's sad for you," I said
"I can't let you stop me from this task... I would let one of these imbeciles handle you, but they don't have the cut for it," I told her,
I held my other gun, shooting her to get her out of the vehicle,
"What?"
I looked around the roof of the vehicle, not seeing her there. She just vanished? How is that feasible,
"Hey, low life, how long until we are there!" I yelled
Does she keep driving, trying to catch glimpses of the fight? If you can call it that. I did which for a better fight, but I think she's scared of me… such a shame that my "beloved" didn't oblige to it,
"Yes, boss, it's just up ahead... did you kill the target," she asked in awe for some reason.
"She will not be killed. Never. I to finish what started a long time ago," I said
"What was that?"
"Nothing you low life! Get back to the road and don't stop until we're there," I yelled
She whispered giving her a well-needed look at the road that she was driving on, I stayed on top of the vehicle watching the trees move by, wondering if seeing her was all in my head. If it can't be in my head, then why would the underling see her as well… the others saw her too…
"Boss look!"
"It's about time," I sighed
I stand on top of the vehicle smirking. Seeing my beautiful base shining brightly In the sun never filled me with this much glee, the car upholding them making some crash into each other,
"Boss, something is blocking us!"
I grumbled, jumping down from the roof of the vehicle and walking ahead to find the problem,
So close to my mission being complete… living the way I wanted, not what he wanted! No more conflict. No more suffering, just peace, living the rest of my life with my beloved became my secondary mission after they left, leaving me to pick up the pieces of my heart once more by myself…truly all you have most days is yourself. No one was there to have my back after… sh…she. She… died, leaving me in a dark abyss alone!
"Boss!"
I keep walking ignoring the fool, I stop at the car that first stopped glaring at the member who is shaking rolling down the window,
"Y…yes sir?" he stuttered
"What is the meaning of the holdup?" I asked sternly,
"A bulking body St…stopped the vehicle," he said
I hummed, turning my gaze to the front of the car and looking at the other member,
"What is this bumbling idiot talking about, a bulky body stopping your car," I said
He turns to me telling me,
"Yes sir something got in the way, we figured that we could just run them over and continue on our way," he said
He takes a deep breath, proceeding to tell me,
"It just stood there not moving when the car came close to running it over, They held out their hands and stopped the vehicle, if we didn't stop the car it would have flipped us over,"
"Then where is the bulky body?"
He stops standing up straight looking at his surroundings, trying not to tremble at my site,
"Boss, I'm sure that..." he shutters
"Do you mean you wasted my time and money on something that's not here," I said
"Well, no. in mean yes," he said
"You are… I will deal with you when we get back," I said
I started to walk away from the imbeciles, They tried to shout for me, but I let it fall on death's ears, Not wanting to deal with them, I continued to stride to the vehicle,
"Shit," I whisper
I didn't move that well.
"You didn't think I would let you get away with this, would you?"
