74: The Whispering Voice
A series of mechanical clicks echoed in the silent cave, followed by two soft murmurs of a male and a female.
"… Almost done?" Noah asked.
He carefully surveyed the surroundings with a calculated gaze. He thinks something might pop out from the shadows, that's why he's looking out for them for his mate. Nothing is more important than protecting Lara at this moment.
Lara frowned as she tried to ticker with the lock. His question disturbed her a bit and she didn't want to be disturbed, especially when she's trying to concentrate on her work.
"Stop distracting me." She scolded him.
He's been asking her the same question none stop since she started cracking the lock and she's mentally exhausted.
She's been busting the gate for 10 minutes now, and she needed her silence to succeed or else she'll make a mistake.
