Chapter 2 - 2.

Let's take a history lesson here.

A few hundred years ago, aliens invaded the planet. After a few years of war, the aliens and humans decided to come to a truce, and made an agreement between races. Many people opposed it, because what were aliens? They're basically the enemy of mankind!

... At least, back then they were.

Back to the truce; a written agreement was made, and humans coexisted with aliens for a time, and centuries passed just like that.

An odd thing humans took note of was the fact that aliens couldn't live for long on Earth because they needed direct sunlight; by that I mean sunlight not blocked by the ozone layer that protects the Earth from getting too much radiation from the sun itself.

But the ozone layer benefits the humans, and the ones who could live on Earth were only human beings. They couldn't stay too long in space, it'd take too much resource to go back and forth between Earth and the outer space, and they couldn't do that long-term, lest the gap between human beings and aliens widen even more.

So they cooperated with human beings to do cross-breeding.

Yes, you read that right; cross-breeding.

Knowing how the masses react to news like these, the whole research process was top-tier national confidential material; in the entirety of Earth, only less than 200 people knew about it.

In the end, the results were... successful, with many pros and cons.

The pros were that half-breeds were far stronger than full-human beings, and can survive in space, resist the deeper sea levels, have enhanced vision, hearing, and even strength, and one could say that they were superhumans.

The cons were the fact that they could only partner up with one person their whole lives, their Intended. As the aliens could only breed with those who have a body with at least 80% compatibility with themselves, this was to be expected.

What was not expected was that these half-aliens could transform their bodies the moment they meet their Intended, and become someone who could impregnate or be impregnated. They were the start of real-life Omegaverse, and the start of a new era.

With the successful integration of human and alien DNA, the world went abuzz. Things like human experimentation was, still is, taboo and inhumane, and the research project though successful, received scorn from everywhere.

But then the soft-hearted ones said, "Isn't this unfair? They didn't ask to be born unable to live for long on Earth, they're basically interstellar immigrants trying to find a new home."

The romantics added oil, "To have only one Intended for your whole life... Isn't that basically a soul-bond kind of thing? Isn't that just simply romantic???"

Then the younger generation fanned the flames, "Being able to explore the outer space, being able to be stronger than human beings, and even unlocking many hidden potentials as a half... isn't it, like, super cool?!"

The fire burned brighter and brighter, and soon, the voices that rejected this changed became less and less, until they became the minority and then disappeared completely, the half-human half-aliens started to become the new "normal" for everyone.

It took many years for this to happen, and so, full-humans like Alan was rare now. And to be able to be admitted to an elite military academy that was full of Betas, Alphas, and Omegas, who were naturally stronger than full-humans... It's admirable.

Which is why Alan is so scared of not being admitted to this academy.

The Marshall eyed him with a predator's gaze, as if determining whether he's truly suitable or not, and that's what scares him the most.

Alan: Marshall, you're the one that recommended me! I've barely stepped foot in here, please don't kick me out immediately!!! QAQ

Marshall Noman also wasn't an ordinary man. Being an Alpha with the height of 2 meters, his gaze weighed heavily upon young Alan's shoulders. Being gazed at like that was far too frightening for a greenhorn like Alan!

His eyes moved from the tips of his hair to the tips of his shoes, his eyes lingering a little on his red nose and slightly teary eyes. Seeing his wronged (frightened) expression, the Alpha pursed his lips.

Marshall Noman: ... He's so small, he looks like he's the same age as my baby son! How could he survive in this harsh militia academy?! Especially when he's a full-human! Watts, you tricked me!!! (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻

... It's not wrong to say that Marshall Noman is starting to regret recommending his friend's son to the Elite Military Academy.
