Chapter 29 - I dial the only number I can think of . . .

Joseph's POV

I pull up to my house and park in the small driveway. (Y/N) looks out the window and says, "It looks kinda small." I laugh and say, "Smaller than yours?" as I unbuckle my seat belt. She pouts and says, "Meanie." She gets out of the car and closes the door. As I get out, she walks up the walkway and stands at the door. I shut my door, pull out my keys, and there's a chirp! chirp! as I lock the doors. "Hurry up, ya slowpoke, I wanna eat all your food!", (Y/N) yells, knocking on the door. I walk around the car and say, "Patience. Get some." I walk up to the dark brown door and pull out my keys. I open the door and yell, "Simi! Come here, girl!" (Y/N) raises her eyebrow and says, "Who?" I hold up a finger, listening for her. Then, a moment later, I hear her running down the hall. She bounds down the stairs then stops and looks at (Y/N). (Y/N) bends down and says, "Awwww, your sooo cute! It's ok, I won't hurt you, little one." Simi just stares at her. I laugh and bend down with (Y/N) and say, "Simi, this is (Y/N). She's cool, she won't hurt you." Simi looks at me then back at (Y/N). Then, she walks over to her and rubs her body against (Y/N). "Yay, she likes me!", (Y/N) smiles as she rubs Simi. "I thought Maine Coon's were mean." I scoff and stand up. "She's nowhere near mean. Come on, let's go in the kitchen.", I say as Simi stops rubbing against (Y/N) and follows me. (Y/N) stands up and looks around in awe. "Man, your house is big. Is this your parents' house?", she says. I nod even though she's not looking at me. I glance at the stove. 10:47. I sigh and sit on a chair. I take out my phone, setting it on the counter. (Y/N) walks around the corner and looks around. "This house looks like it should have a ton of kids running around.", she says, putting her hand on her hip. I chuckle and say, "My parents were going to have more kids . . . but, they didn't have a chance to." (Y/N) stares at me then walks over and sits in the chair next to me. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. . . ", she says as she puts a hand on my shoulder. I look up at her and say, "They never do." I slide off the chair and unclick my vet. I hang it on a hook on the wall and take off my tie. I unbutton the top three buttons and sighs. "Well, we leave out at 1:00 so, I guess you can stay here for the time being." I turn to look at (Y/N) and see that she's not there anymore. "(Y/N)! Where'd you go!? (Y/N)!", I yell in a panic. I run up the stairs and check my bedroom. Crap, she's not here! Where'd she go!?, I think. I check the other three rooms and still don't find her. I run back downstairs and grab my phone. I dial the only number I can think of. 9 1 1.
