The whole car ride was awkward and silent. No one spoke, and I was grateful for it. No matter how uncomfortable it was, at least I don't have to force myself to accommodate anyone. I was brooding in silence, mind whirring with different thoughts. It would make me feel better if I could only pick one, but that's only wishful thinking on my part.
I gazed outside the car window, seemingly fascinated by all the sight that we passed by as the car smoothly drove on the highway.
My eyes then turned to Keith on the driver's side, wearing a serious expression as he focused on the road ahead. I then glanced at Olivia at the back using the mirror and saw her soundlessly sitting there with a vacant look. She was deep in her thoughts. Like me, she might also be thinking of the same thing.
