I gasped when my eyes landed upon a familiar pair of onyx ones. The person was standing just a few feet away from the stairs and from where I was, unmoving like me. I blinked just to make sure I wasn't seeing things or that I was just mistaking him for someone else.
My eyes fluttered open and stared at the man again and the image didn't change. I gazed at him even more, feeling my heart which had stopped beating for a moment, finding its lost rhythm again.
"Kotik," he whispered.
It reached my ears and strummed my sleeping subconsciousness awake. Hearing that same nickname he always calls me made me feel all kinds of emotions at once. I suddenly started zoning out, not hearing the chaos that was happening outside. I also forgot what I was going to do as the world around us disappeared out of my sight.
