Chapter 10 - Chapter ten {Strange and assignment}III

She didn't stop running until she was close to the entrance of the classroom and everything was silent, the only thing audible was Mr. Quint's voice echoing sonorously down the hallway.

He was a young teacher, so it was no surprise that he had a nice voice.

"The father, the son and the holy spirit" She whispered to herself as she did a cross check of the Trinity before she summoned the courage to enter the class. She kissed her palms and entered, interrupting the man who seemed to be caught amidst of explanation.

His blue eyes cross exam her and he actually dismissed her nicely.

"Find a seat Miss. Richards." He showed a piece of kindness which got bad Barbie girl like Katy to check if there was a connection between the duo.

"Thank..k you, sir." She stuttered and turned her head down while she walked through an aisle in search for a free chair.

Thanks to the fact that her head was down, she was able to see one of the normal pair of leg stuck out crossing the way.

She looked up to the owner and he smirked at her. It was him, Will Packers.

With a lovely touch of deep breath, she walked over the leg and did not stumbled. Lucky her, she found a seat.

It wasn't until she settled down did Mr. Quint continue with his teaching. He turned back to the board with his well structured back that captivated most girls in his class.

Gracie wasn't expecting the girl in her front to slam her desk with a rough sheet and a death glare. She rolled her eyes and almost flipped her wavy brunette hair in Gracie's face.

She breathed in deeply as her eyes locked up with the white sheet with the word 'slut' boldly written on it.

Pushing aside the sad feeling, she reached out for the paper, however rapidly like wind on a desert, the note buzzed off before her hand landed on it. She was sure she saw a hand.

She reeled her face to the side where it disappeared to and she froze. It was at that moment that the strong aura in the air hit her.

She watched him perfectly torn the sheet into tiny pieces and kept it at a side of his table. When he twirled to look at her, she quickly turned away, facing front with shock on her face even though she did manage to mesmerized the ravishing curls of his honey locks that she thought she did love to run her slim hand through.

She gulped and tapped on her table as she continued to sense his eyes on her. There was no way he could have remembered her from that night.

"...and the economy was said to reduce drastically due to the out break of the virus." Gracie was able to hear this part.

"Lots of things happened in the year and majority of our ancestors in this town took part, some even... died." The fine man licked his pink lips and locked gaze with one of the students.

"Morgan." he called.

A girl with short black hair that fell into Bob and rimmed glasses looked up from a book in her front. She sat at the first seat of the middle row and her eyes were directly on Mr. Quint.

"Yes, sir." Her voice came out small, something not expected from someone as fleshy as her.

"What do you have to tell the class about your family name?"

Morgan looked round the class as she wasn't sure if she has what the class wanted. Meanwhile, Gracie held her lips in thin lines waiting patiently for her reply.

"Ahem... it's not really something I'm familiar with... but my grandparents said they were yet to be born when the pandemic took place-" Morgan played with her fingers.

" The name Aaron was my late great granduncle's first name and it was in his honor."

"Is the name Morgan his wife's name 'cause I bet you're a replacement of her in this generation." Katy said softly from the corner she sat with her squad.

There was a small outbreak of laughter which died off when Mr. Quint spoke, "Alright, that's all good-"

"It's totally okay, Mr. Quint. My parent really did named me after his wife, they said she was a legend and I'll probably become like her one day." After the rimmed glasses girl had caught the man of, to defend herself with a smile, the whole class turned dumb, bowled over by her attack. Even Gracie was astounded.

"You are so smart, Aaron. But just because the mother hen could hide her babies from hawk doesn't mean she's exceptional." Katy prodded in a serious manner, her smooth face grimed.

"Mm, that's a deep figure of speech, digging grave into account that the Lemkins are known to be ancient hunters of terrifying monsters of the night in this town." Mr. Quint pointed out as he moved steadily yet leery to Katy, who was twirling her blonde hair and suddenly paused on hearing what he poured out.

"Those are rumors, pff- for all I know my mom and dad owns the biggest factor in town not the most dangerous weapon. I don't even know how to aim a gun." She admonished.

There was a long silent in the class as Mr. Quint engaged in a long staring competition with the Barbie girl that made the students to start murmuring.

Totally forgetting who sat beside her, Gracie reeled her head and met deep green eyes that ignited a strong fire in her chest, exploding a feeling that made it impossible for her to stare for so long.

There was something strange about him.

"Okay, Miss. Lemkin, truly your parents are people of high class, which gives meaning to why you're here. But, does that give a stand to the history of your family?"

"I don't believe anything supernatural." Katy affirmed.

The bell rang,

"Huh, look like some dirty are about to spurt out. Why don't we give ourselves some assignment?" The class mumbled inaudibly as the extra work they would be getting.

"Get yourselves a partner and go into each other's family history. Due date is a week to your examination, so best of luck." He slapped his hands and walked back to the front.

The class already know that was a goodbye for the day.

Gracie used the opportunity where her classmates were picking their partners to jot somethings down, full knowing that no one would pick her. Tori would have picked her but she skipped the class to clear her head or something Gracie didn't know of.

It was his scent first before her heart started replying to his call. She could practically feel him under her skin when it was just his eyes on her.

She wasn't comfortable with the whole concept, so she heaved a sigh and planned to rudely take his mysterious caging eyes away from her, only for him to speak when she attempt to stand.

"Would you be my partner?"

She froze.
