Chapter 5 - Chapter Six

Walking me to the library Ryan asked me if Veet was coming to stay with me and I told him no she's out buying books that she needed. She won't be home until late. After he kisses me later, I watched him walked off and I went to the library in the theory section, and drown myself in the book of mythical, legends, and great rulers.

Reminds me of a time when I met Queen of Sheba, Elizabeth was a very gorgeous woman with long lovely obscure hair that flows onto her lower back and her jewelry twines around her braided hair. She has her male and female Sabretooth Tigers by the side of her throne her side watching everybody especially the newcomers, me. Sheba had flawless mocha skin with a hard abdominal not too manly nor too soft it was just right, and her perfect figure and her deadly black eyes bore through me every time we have a conversation. She was a damn good leader and fierce with it too take no bull from no one. She gave me my chamber with guards protecting my door just in case I was about to attack, or someone tries to attack me, but still, I was thankful for her hospitality.

Not even spending a good week there the King had found me, and I heard the Queen said she's in that room, I curse to myself looking for an escape route. I came up with the most absurd idea. Slide down the pyramid in these flats will have to do the trick. Taking a breath, I didn't need and jump on the windowsill looking back once more to hear the door open. I leaped gliding down the flank of the pyramid. Thank goodness it was skewed as I was about to arrive at the end about thirty feet away, I plunge over rolling nonstop. I fell with an awful bone-cracking sound and I hastily place all broken bones back in tack. Even though I was in terrible pain, I was still fighting for survival. I found ten of the king's men waiting at the end for me. I was stabbed all over with a few contusive wounds from head to toes. I ran as fast as I could through the deserts and forests. When I finally stopped running, I was in a cave falling to pieces because I couldn't restraints myself from falling apart from excessive exhaustion and loss of blood. I had reached my limit for the moment.

What kind of crap are they putting in these books about vampires? We can survive without blood of a human and it's not an everyday thing. For the dead, it's a weekly thing and for the living vampire, it's a now and then thing. Vampires do not die immediately with a stake unless you stab the exacted center of the heart. Something itches me to look outside to the skies, it was dark as midnight and I checked my watch to realize that it was late.

"Oh damn," I said packing up quickly. I must hurry to the laundry room before the damn mob gets there.

"Here, darling have a treat. I have never seen anyone so focus in my years of being in this library," the librarian said.

He was in his sixties, and he really looks like forty-something. He has no gray hair and he was so sweet to me. I guess it is the kindness of an old person.

"Thank you," I took the turkey sandwiches.

I checked the time and put down the sandwich. "I got to go thank you," I said to him running out the library and through the exit into the cool night breeze.

I saw a shadow lingering in the darkness. I stopped sniffing the air to smell a succubus and an annoyed facial expression came over my face. Then a dart came at my neck and I caught it before it hits me.

"Keep it up and the next dart you throw at me will end up in an unpleasant place," I said then it came at me again. "Son of a-"

I was cut off because the succubus attacked me grabbing my throat slamming me into a nearby tree. Since we were in the shadows no one could see us as she runs her fingertips up and down my arm. A feeling of submission writhes through me and I attempt to push it away. When I stopped drinking human blood that was the day my life changed, and I became weak.

"What the hell are you doing?" I said as my glance went to the right to see my hard work sprawled on the ground. "You choose the wrong day to attack me, missy. Now I'm giving you a chance to walk off if not you will face horrible consequences."

"Just one hit," she said moving too close to my lips with her.

Whatever spell she's using it's not working out. I'm too old to submit to any newbie spellcaster. I strain to move my arms, strange. This shouldn't be a problem for me, but it was. Ever since I stopped drinking human blood and went to animal blood my powers have weakened. Finally, I had some strength to knee the woman in her stomach and she let out an 'oomph' sound falling and collapsed into a ball.

"Ow!" she screams, and I took out my cell phone and call Dane office.

"Hello this is Annabel can I speak to Detective Dane?" I asked. "You better not move," I warned the woman.

"You always know him when your ass is in trouble. When are you going to live up to your standards and take responsibility of your own," Tyler says with venom.

"Just give him the damn phone. I-"

He hung up on me and I was ticked more than before. Now I was in overdrive rage and I was exhausted and hot suddenly. As I picked up my bookbag with my hard work, I threw the girl over my shoulder. I strode into the station that was crammed with workers and thieves, robber, etc.

"What the hell!" someone yells at me as I dropped both the girl and my bookbag.

I looked down at the girl and she paled, "You move, and I will kill your family while I glue your lids open and tie your ass down in a chair while you watch me. I'll even go as far as to let you survive and go insane while every night you WILL see me smiling down at you whenever you are sleeping," I told her, and she backed up into a corner. "Literally."

"Now can somebody tell me where Tyler Lawson is, I need to talk to him," I said to the whole station now looking at me.

All I could sense was fright and hesitation and it's making this thing inside me stirred with pleasure and excitement. My body was on fire.

"Tyler darling, I thought you wanted to play I'm here let's play you damn mutt let's play," I said walking around quietly.

"Ma'am you shouldn't be here," some woman said with long blond hair.

"Neither should you now get out of my face," I dismiss her.

She came back in my path and I sized her up and down.

"Well aren't you a brave little soldier. Dane taught you all well. I like you already are you willing to lose your life for disrespecting your Beta," I said, and she froze. "Oh, I'm guessing Dane didn't tell the novices that a vampire is the Beta don't worry I'm guessing Tyler took that from me, last chance girlie get out my way I have no time for games."

I took another step and a gun was pointed at my chest.

"I cannot let you do that ma'am stand down," the youngling says.

"Go ahead shoot you think a damn bullet, or any bullet can kill me fine a damn stake kid or you'll have zero chances in killing me or stopping me!" I snapped stepping closer and she clanks the gun.

"Annabel Raven Vento's," I froze as I was about to grab the bitch throat.

"Damn it," I mumbled.

Shit Dane was here, and that son-of-a-bitch Tyler was with him, and I walked forward swiftly toward him and froze when Dane blocked me.

"What the hell are you doing here interrupting my station and then you have gone psycho vampire in here. Look at me when I'm talking to you," he commands, and my head snapped up because of his alpha tone and I backed up a step. "We need to talk, and Officer Nina don't ever pull a gun at her again," I turned to look at the blonde who nod automatically.

Everybody knew he was angry, and it was because of me, and he has never been angry with me nor would he yell at me. I must have really messed up this time.

"And you Annabel you threaten one of my men again and I'm throwing your ass in jail for obstruction of justice now tell me why this woman sitting in my damn station in a ball?" he pointed at the succubus.

"It doesn't matter I'm going home you are free to go," I told the woman picking up my bookbag.

I felt like a walking corpse and I was getting paler than usual. My eyes hurt from lack of sleep and my body felt heavy led. I just wanted to go collapse in my bed. I feel like crap right now all that anger inside me is piling up and the sick twisted part of me is feeding on that. I seriously don't know where it came from and feeling other people's fear had made me feel like I was in a heavenly place. What is wrong with me how could someone else fear gives me joy and pleasure.

"I have to go," I said holding my head from fainting.

"Annabel what's wrong you don't look so well," Dane said concerned in his voice and he held onto my arm before I could walk out.

As soon as his hand wrapped around mine a sensation of allurement took over my body. I had to suck in a breath from this overpowering feeling.

"Shit Annabel! Call the doctor!" he shouted. "Dammit you are burning up and your skin doesn't show the heat."

"I'm fine I just need to rest," I muttered.

"Bullshit," he said.

"Are you angry with me I'm sorry for threatening your people I don't know what came over me. I was having a long day and I called… it feels as if someone dipped me in lava I'm burning up," I said to him weakly.

"Pretty Demon!" I heard David shouts.

But my eyes were shouting down.

"Behave, David, she's not feeling so well," Price said.
