LUNCH TIME
"Geez! Nana! What happened to you?!!" the girl who took the seat next to Alaena exclaimed. She almost slammed her food tray when she noticed the scratches on the girl's arms. "Let me take a look"
Alaena smiled nervously and took her arms back, "It's okay, I happened to bump into a demon," she mumbled, rubbing the soreness.
The girl beside her widened her eyes. "Ehh?!" she almost yelled. "A d-demon?!!" She quickly covered her lips when their thoughts met. That 'demon' is not really a demon. It was just their pet name for the young master of the Ross Clan. Of course, they didn't want the other students to hear them and report.
Alaena hushed. "You are too loud," she mumbled near the girl's ears, checking the students around them. She straightened her back and sighed with relief.
The truth is, it was all her fault. She's also the one who gave Liechael that 'demon' pet name. The girl was trying her best to not meet or bump into him this whole time. She's not rich like them and she had no power. Alaena thought of maintaining her good personality until she graduates. 'But would it be impossible now?'
Amy leaned closer to her again. "So tell me what happened," she whispered.
For a while, Alaena paused and looked at the girl's pure black round eyes that's sparkling under her long curvy lashes. Amy was smaller than her, up to her shoulders. Long and black hair above the waist. Small and curvy body. Alaena can describe her as a charming, cute one.
"Come on, don't be shy..I promise! I won't tell my cousin about—EEEKKKK!!!"
BAM!
"What the heck are you not telling me?" Aiden sat down across their table with his grumpy eyes and twitching lips. He purposely slammed his tray to startle Amy. His cousin is jumpy, after all.
Amy and Aiden were cousins, but they were not alike. Aiden is taller than Alaena. He has a slim but athletic body. He's the baseball club team captain. Aiden got bored with his black hair, so he dyed it to mint green. It gave him more charm because he had fair skin. The guy always wears this grumpy expression on his face because he hates his sleepy fox-like grey eyes. He didn't want other people to mistake him as weak. He even put two piercings in his left ear.
He's 18 years old and Amy is 17.
Justin peered behind Aiden before taking the seat next to the male. "I'm glad you guys still haven't finished eating," he said in relief. He placed his tray and smiled at Amy, who's now clinging onto Alaena's arms very tight.
He tilted his head and looked at Alaena. "What happened to her?" he asked.
"Hehe.." Alaena chuckled. "Aiden, you shouldn't scare your cousin like that." she lightly pushed Amy away and brushed her head. "Stop playing with her jumpy acts, you're not a kid anymore"
Justin, beside Aiden, scoffed. Trying hard to hide the laughter he wanted to hold for his life. The guy beside him saw through his expression so he glared, "What the heck are you laughing at me?" Aiden snorted. "Didn't you forget that I saved you from those bullies?"
Hearing this, Justin felt guilty, so he stopped.
"Let's just eat, shall we?" Alaena picked up her spoon and delivered her lunch to her mouth. She's only wearing her white under polo because her blue coat got torn a little from jumping down earlier, so half of her arms were exposed. As soon as she raised her right arm, Aiden's eyes gazed exactly that way.
"Alaena, what happened to your arms?"
The spoon from Alaena's hands slipped and fell down on the tray. 'Crap, he noticed,' she thought. She averted her gaze and looked at Amy instead, who also averted her eyes away. It's very rare for Aiden to call her by her full name. And when the guy did that, it means that he's being dead serious.
"It's because she's an idiot!" Amy exclaimed.
"Idiot?" Both Justin and Aiden asked in different tones.
Amy chuckled nervously. "She's an idiot because she fell down the stairs earlier for hurrying to the first period..hehehe…" she rubbed her nape that is now turning red. The girl pinched Alaena's thigh under the table while giving her a 'Hey, I'm helping you so cooperate with me' look.
"Y-Yes, she's right..I accidentally missed a step earlier while running down the stairs," Alaena second the motion.
"Then we should accompany you to the infirmary to get it all treated," Justin said after munching the food in his mouth.
"Are you sure?"
Hearing Aiden's suspicious voice and meeting his narrowing grey fox-like eyes made the two girls jolted again from nervousness. His expressions are even close to his sleeping face because of his narrowed eyes squinting real hard, like digging a hole into the two.
Alaena and Amy knew how bad Aiden's temper was. If they told him that it was the stairs, he would literally sue the stairs for you.
"Nothing to worry about," Alaena said. "I will go to the infirmary after finishing my lunch, so don't waste too much energy on it,"
Again, the gloomy atmosphere went back to normal as they enjoyed the company of each other eating lunch.
"Nana, I can accompany you to the infirmary after this," Justin offered.
The girl smiled at him, "Sure, let's go together then"
Amy pursed her lips out. "You guys are leaving me, I will go too! Let's go all together" It made Justin and Alaena giggled.
Though in Alaena's mind, those deep blue eyes she met for the second time are still printed. She thought that if she painted it, it would literally fade away like the feeling of finishing a masterpiece, but why does it make her feel empty and heavy?
There are things Alaena felt that she couldn't even understand after that encounter. She's not like this in the past. Some part of her is longing for something she couldn't even figure out.
