Isabelle's POV
After Ms. Ligher rang the office for clean up to attend to the broken light, we resumed class. The class was going very smoothly— I mean there were no arguments or anything. It was very quiet, which was very unusual, but nonetheless peaceful and I adored it. But you know what they say: peace never lasts, and in my case, it definitely did not last as long as I wanted.
This class mainly consisted of girls; there were very few boys in this class due to most of the boys being an athlete or involved in other things, such as clubs. Anyway, the boys that were in this class didn't really care about much; they were mainly ex-athletes or the radical bad boys that didn't care at all.
So it was very peaceful, right? And then out of nowhere, Kassidy Johnson stood up and harshly yanked Alexis Nether's blonde hair. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the big chunk of Alexis' hair in Kassidy's hand. My mouth was widely agape and I had to hurriedly cover it with my hands, but I soon placed them on my cheeks; I probably looked like the kid from Home Alone now.
The entire class went quiet because we were in complete shock. We looked back & forth between Alexis & Kassidy for what seemed like forever; we were anticipating either one of the girls' next move. Even the teacher was in utter disbelief. This class may have been rowdy because it was mostly girls, but nothing like this ever happened. We began to think Alexis wasn't going to do anything but we were sorely mistaken.
Kassidy had a triumphant smile plastered across her face with her arms folded across her chest, quietly screaming the claim that she'd already won. But boy, oh boy! Alexis stood up and yanked Kassidy's jet black hair and swung her around the room by her hair, sending the desk flying in every which way and scattering the rest of us to avoid getting in between their fight.
I heard Kassidy cuss Alexis in some sort of language I didn't understand and then she kicked Alexis in her knees causing both of them to fall to the floor. Kassidy got on top of Alexis and straddled her then proceeded to punch her. Kassidy got one punch in but Alexis quickly blocked the next punch and flipped Kassidy over to get the advantage. Alexis put Kassidy's legs in a weird position so that she couldn't move. Alexis started to punch her repeatedly and eventually broke Kassidy's nose.
This must have snapped Ms. Ligher from her daze because she zoomed over but Alexis pushed her out of the way, making sure to put her all into the push. Our teacher was soon sprawled across the floor next to our other classmates that were fighting.
"How dare you!?" Alexis screamed.
"How dare I? How dare you, Alexis!? He was mine first!" Kassidy shouted.
Alexis yelled, "Yours first? In your dreams! We've been secretly dating for a year, Kassidy. So what the hell were you doing with him? Not only that, but you chose to sneak attack me! You deserve way more than a broken nose, you bitch!"
Kassidy soon broke free from the weird position and they rolled around the floor vigorously, both trying to obtain the advantage of being on top. We were still looking at them, still in shock but we were now trying to figure out who was the boy that was commotion & where he was. You could tell all the girls were racking their brain to put two & two together, but I didn't care about that. If no one stopped them now, somebody would end up badly injured. I looked around at the few boys in the class and realized they had no intention of breaking the fight up; now people were starting to record the fight and I did the only thing I could think of.
I quickly ran to the wall by the door and rang the office. What's taking them so long to answer?? I turned my head back around and I saw Alexis back on top, pressing her entire fist into Kassidy's face. This reminded me of the scenes between my mom & my dad in my last life & so I couldn't bear to see any violence.
I ran to them and pulled Alexis off of Kassidy and pushed her against the wall closest to the teaching board; I looked at her in her eyes and she seemed terrified. I stared at her intensely, mentally asking her if she was gonna stay there or if I was going to have resort to other measures to stop her, but she quickly responded with a head nod.
I turned away from her, giving her one last glance before I walked back to help Kassidy from the floor. I extended my hands & she grabbed them; I pulled her up very slowly and quickly walked her to the corner to grab tissues for her bleeding. I then walked her back to a desk that was still in tact and pinched her nose. I told her to be still while I popped her nose back into place.
"One, two.." Snap!
"Shit!" Kassidy blasted.
"Sorry," I said.
Just then, the office staff came barging in, gawking at the remnants from the brawl and the fact that the teacher of this class was still sprawled out on the floor. She could have gotten up by now; she was so dramatic. Our principal, Mr. Spay, helped Ms. Ligher up and walked her outside of the door. The assistant principal was also here and took both of the participants from the fight with her.
I released a breath I didn't know I had been holding. I felt my heart beat increase, and I saw a drop of sweat sliding down my face. I clutched my heart & I saw Jen trying to run up to me, but my vision went blurry and I went headfirst to the floor. I waited on my head to hit the floor but it never came. I opened one of my blurry eyes & saw Jason's messy black hair & unique eyes staring back at me profusely.
"What the hell are you standing there for? Call the damn nurse or a medic!" He yelled.
Jen immediately rushed to him and helped him stand me up. She grabbed our things and they started on their way to take me to the office. I don't remember anything after that because I passed out as soon as my feet glided outside of the horrid classroom.

"Belle."
Someone was calling my name. Oh hell, not this again. How many times would I be put through this?
"Belle!"
I found it strange that someone knew my name in death. No one knew it last time.
"Isabelle!"
My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the light of the spinning room.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Open your eyes, Bunny."
Was that Jennifer? What's going on? Aren't my eyes open already?
"They are open, Jen!"
"No they're not. Open them, Isabelle!" She screamed again.
"Look. I said they're open. What more do you want me to do?"
I heard someone's low & sexy chuckle. It must be Jason. Oh this is embarrassing! Why is he still here?? He came up and touched my hand and I peaked at him. His hair was disheveled and he looked worried about me.
"We've only been friends for a day & you look like that— worrying about me already?" I joked.
"Finally." He said.
"Finally what?" I asked confused.
"You finally opened your eyes. It's been days." He said.
"What?" I asked dumbfoundedly.
"The doctors thought you were going to be in a comatose state." He explained.
"A coma? You're joking!" I sat up and grabbed my heart.
"Hey, take it easy, Bunny!" Jennifer scolded me.
I examined her, "Since when have you stuck around and actually scolded me? You're not the Periwinkle that I know."
I scrunched my face up at this fake Jen impression.
"I am the Periwinkle that you know. It's the weekend so why wouldn't I be here tending to my friend? Plus, I missed you & we already set a schedule for observing you." She shrugged.
"Schedule? Exactly how many days has it been?" I asked.
"Well you've been here at the hospital since you broke up the fight." She said.
"Oh my.. No! You're kidding me, right? No way! What did the doctors say happened to me?"
"Panic attack & a slight arrhythmia. They observed you while you were asleep and didn't find any abnormalities. Your parents should be back soon." Jason explained.
"Well, thanks guys. What would I do without you two?" I said with mild tears forming.
"I think you'd do just fine without Jason. I was here first and you two barely know each other." Jen concluded.
"Jealous much?" Jason teased.
"Never," Jennifer scoffed.
I laughed at them and my head started pounding; I instinctively grabbed my temple and massaged it. To make matters worse, my parents came in and hugged me tightly, crying in my ear. By parents, I meant my mom and her overly emotional self. She made my headache spread throughout my entire body— I didn't even know that was possible.
"Mom, chill. I'm okay but I won't be if you keep up with all of that noise." I said.
"I'm sorry," she paused to wipe her tears from underneath her glasses, "I just thought you weren't gonna come back to me."
"To you? She has a dad, too, you know?" My father lifted his brows at my mom and she responded with a timid smile. My dad laughed at her and I felt so much better watching them love each other.
Soon the doctors entered and probed about my health and home life. The doctors asked Jennifer & Jason to step out while they assessed the situation.
"Now, Isabelle, we fixed your slight arrhythmia with a pacemaker that first day you were asleep, but it soon cleared up and we gave you medicine for it through your intravenous drip. We're going to prescribe you some pills for that. But do you have often have panic attacks?"
He came over after speaking and used his stethoscope to listen to my heart. He nodded and waited for me to speak.
"No. It was my first one ever." I replied.
He inquired, "Do you know what might have caused it?"
I shook my head, but only slightly due to my headache. He nodded at me then walked over to talk to my parents after that. I zoned out and waited for Jennifer & Jason to be able to enter again. I closed my eyes, slowing my breathing while I thought about the news I just received.
I must have been too tired to stay awake because I don't remember seeing Jen & Jay after I closed my eyes. Ugh, why today of all days? Curse you, Alexis & Kassidy!
