*CHAOXING'S POV
The banquet had started and I could see that Genji was very nervous because of the banquet. Well, I could understand her fears. But what did she take me for? There is no way I was going to allow anyone downgrade my empress at such an important banquet. Not knowing how to comfort her, I grab her hand tightly in mine and she looks at me. I think she got the message.
"The Emperor and Empress arrive! The eunuch said opening the doors.
This banquet had been planned by royals and officials in Zhao so I did know there might be some unexpected surprises. All the officials are seated together at the left hand side in order of rank while all the royals are seated on the right side in order of rank too. When we enter, all of the stand up to greet us and I make sure to hold Genji's hand very tight.
"Greetings Emperor and Empress. Long live the emperor and empress" They said.
"Thank you. Please rise." I said.
