Few days after Chaoxing faked his death, I returned back to the capital. Everything felt empty and colourless without him. He had trusted me to take care of the Huang family while he wasn't here so I will do my best to ensure no one got entangled in this.
The next day, I wear my armor and head to court meeting. Although I am waiting outside, I can see Honghui looking distressed. He must be feeling the same way I am feeling. Chaoxing and he were once brothers after all. I had always known that Chaoxing wanted the throne, I just wished he had talked this over with me before executing it.

Queen Mother? Was she attending court too?

The grand empress dowager? Thank God. The grand empress dowager was Chaoxing's grandmother too. She would surely defend him.
