Chapter 1 - Death Is Knocking On My Door

The phone was ringing. It's incessant sound sliced through the afternoon silence hung over the street of Hamilton.

The burgundy-haired girl let out a groan as she reached out for her phone that was placed on her nightstand. Not moving her body from the bed, she pressed the answer button.

"Rapz, I know how much you love me but it's not the best day for you to call. I still have a hangover," She groaned.

The person on the other line let out a squeak. "Oh. I'm so sorry!" Her friend said with her usual southern accent.

"Nevermind. I'll meet you there at 5."

"Alright. À plus tard," Rapz said.

She smiled. "À plus tard," She then pressed the end button.

She let out a sigh and spend the next ten minutes on her bed before deciding to stand up and start the day.

At the age of 22, Praxina doesn't actually have a lot of things to do. She doesn't have any boyfriend and doubt she will ever have one. It's not that she's ugly. She actually have a very beautiful face.

She looked at her own figure at the body mirror she placed next to the bathroom door. She had a sculpted figure which was twine-thin, a curvilinear waist with her saffron tint complexion.

She just chuckled and decided to head for the bathroom. She doesn't need to pity herself for being lonely all this years. She doesn't need pity. Not now, not ever.

A few moments later, she was back on her feet. Literally. Since she tripped on her way back to the bedroom. She's now wearing a matching red pleather jacket and skirt set. She matched it with her 2 inch peep toe stiletto heels.

She took out her brush and combed her long burgundry hair with subtle layers. She put on a makeup and after that she's done!

She went downstairs and took her red tote bag. Ready to leave her burgundry victorian house. She opened the door and was shocked to see a man standing there.

He had tousled dark blond hair, which was thick and lustrous. His eyes were a mesmerising sea green flecks of silvery light performed ballets throughout. His face was strong and defined, like hii features was mold from granite.

He was handsome and truly ravishing. She didn't realized that she was staring at him for too long. She then blinked and was brought back to reality when the handsome figure in front of her snapped his fingers.

"Excuse me, but do I know you?" She asked, her voice filled with confusion as she felt something familiar about the person in front of her.

"Of course you do. You're one of the reason why I'm in trouble," He said. His voice was low and deep as the ocean blue.

"I don't understand," She said. Unable to stop the fear from seeping through her voice.

She doesn't quite remember the events of last night. All she knew is that she went to her best friend's wedding party, drank a couple glass of tequila and then that was it. Her face went pale. Surely, she didn't do something stupid that can ruin her life, right?

"We had a bet last night," He started. "I spared 50 lives of people who are supposed to die and go to the afterlife. Now Hades—I mean Dad is going to kill me! I need you to help me to fix the mess that we've made."

She was in trouble. Not just any kind of trouble where you could get away with it. Sure, there might be consequences, but it's literally Death she's facing.
