On a vast empty field of ashes stood Amirel. Deeply in thought with a raised eyebrow looking at an opened portal right before him.
After a few seconds, it starts closing and he hears a shout of a woman that entered said portal before.
"What is wrong with this world!?"
Right after this it closes leaving no evidence of its existence behind.
'What a weird woman.'
Upon thinking that amirel no longer concerns himself about this weak woman that intrudes upon his domain.
Only someone comparable to him could open a portal to this realm. It obviously wasn't Eli. That means that there is someone strong on the other side and if that being has any ill intentions it would without a doubt came here personally with reinforcements. By ordering Eli to come here this being is sending two messages.
One, it's a warning. It clearly shows that it is strong enough to have a good fight with him.
Second, It's not aggressive and just wants to talk.
This is what Amirel came up with.
Little did he know that this creature simply wanted to prank this angel and nothing more.
When he finishes his thought, Amirel returns to the main topic.
"So at this point, what can I do to get more energy?"
That is a question that concerns him the most. He needs more divine energy to do literally everything and not having any stable supply is concerning.
hmm... You can judge souls.|
This answer gained his attention. He started thinking if there are more ways of gaining points.
"Any more options?"
Many, but this is the most suitable at the moment|
Amirel felt relief. If his only way of gaining points was judging souls then his situation would be way more than tragic.
"Okay. Then how to do that?"
Easy. You approach the soul, then you look at it using your power, which will allow you to 'see' information about who the person was, their character, important achievements and so on.|
Then Amirel thought about a soul he met before. He quickly found Mercas and went in his direction. While walking he had seen hundreds of souls floating around and thought that it's gonna be a long and boring task.
He approaches the soul which recognises him immediately.
"Welcome back oh great lord of death."
Amirel nods to him and says.
"I came to conduct your trial."
Mercas immediately starts shaking from fear.
"Oh, no. Have I done something wrong or broken any rules?"
He gets confused by this misunderstanding and calms the man down.
"What? Oh no, the point is that I will check what kind of person you were and decide what to do with you next."
Mercas sighs with relief and calms down.
"I understand. Then start, I'm ready."
Origin of death focuses his power on the soul and suddenly 'sees' a lot of information about a man before him.
Mercas was the best hunter in his tribe. He had a wife, three children and two siblings. He lived in temples but was by no means poor. He did some bad things in his life, for example. He killed another person in self-defence. His greatest achievement in life was saving the whole tribe from hunger when he set off on a dangerous expedition during a snowstorm during winter. To sum up, he did evil, immoral deeds, but he did not do them intentionally but out of need. Watching and analyzing his whole life took me about 10 hours.
'It too long'
For now, it's enough|
After that, he gives this soul two choices.
"Mercas, it gives you two choices. You can be reincarnated and live again, or you can stay here and wait for your family. Remember that at any time you can come and say that you want to return to the living."
He gives it a thought and after a few minutes gives his answer.
"In this case, sir, I want to stay and wait for my loved ones."
Amirel smiled slightly and said.
"Very well then."
Imposible!|
He got into a defensive position and stayed on alert due to the system 'shout'.
"What is impossible?"
System didn't answer for a few seconds which made him even more anxious.
Y-You smiled!|
After hearing that he suddenly got an urge to punch someone, but unfortunately that person does not have a body.
He goes in the direction of the nearest soul and asks system about his progress.
"How many points did this give me?"
5|
Amirel felt that something is wrong with him because its the sound time he never wanted to punch someone this many times in such a short span of time.
"I don't think it's worth doing it."
He said dejectedly. Hearing that system started explaining.
The number of points depends on the quality of the soul you judge. Besides, remember that it was at least five points for each soul and in the future, there will be millions of them here.|
He understood what she meant and said.
"It's time-consuming, but we have plenty of it."
Yep|
Death did not understand what she meant and questioned.
"What does it even mean?"
You wouldn't get it|
