"Why were you with Marissa today?" He asked.
"She needed help and most of the staff is on leave. So, she asked me to help her out." She was looking on the road.
"Was she bullying you again?" He looked at her. "No." She shook her head. "She was so nice to me today. She even said that I have done really good work in the past month. And that she can rely on me." She excitedly told him everything Marissa had said.
"Right." He nodded and scratched his temple. He glanced at her, she didn't seem to be bothered or tensed.
"Uh – everything's fine? And… uh - I mean did anybody else tried to say anything… I mean like anyone, you know, anything mean?" He tried to put words together but that was all he managed to say. He didn't want to say anything that would bring back any bad memories of her.
"Nope." She pouted and leaned back in the seat.
"Did you eat?" He was driving very slowly. Not like on a speed of 10, but slower than usual.
