*SOPHIA'S POV*
"SHUT UP.!.. oh sorry." I instantly regretted what I said but I know I can't stop my mouth now.
"I mean, are you kidding me? Am I suppose to Laugh at this point, or do you expect me to just believe that?" I burst out. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my entire life.
"Watch your manners Sophia!" Dad immediately interjected.
"Dad, this is not to disrespect Officer Stones but please don't tell me you trust what he said?" I debated.
"I'm telling you the truth Sophia. I know it's hard to take it in right now but know that this is just the beginning." Mr. Stones finally spoke, trying his best to explain his side.
"It's not about that. It just doesn't make any sense!" I continued.
"And beginning of what exactly?" I'm getting dizzy trying to understand these adults.
"Sophia, let me show you something." Dad walks to mine and Mr. Stones direction. He stops then silently folds up his left sleeve and shows me his arm.
"What do you see?" he asks after glancing at me.
"Uhhhmm your wrist?"
"Now, what do you see?"
There was silence.
Then, a blue-ish light emanates from the same spot I was staring at, swallowing the whole room. I felt Dad grab my shoulder as I was about to collapse from shock. His untainted skin earlier is now full of tattoos, scribbles and images alike.
I looked up to meet my Dad's eyes and even his face is covered with ancient symbols. The more I focus my gaze, the more I notice the soft glowing light flowing from pattern to pattern like a dancing dragonfly at night.
I then returned my attention to his wrist and I can't help but only glare at the eye figure perforated right at the middle. I can see what seemingly to be the sun's rays surrounding it. This unusual image is also sitting at the top of a chalice.
"Wha..what just hap.. happened Dad? What.. are all this?" I mumbled. My brain can't keep up with all of these.
"I will explain it to you slowly honey, but you have to promise me Sophia that whatever you are going to hear or see, you'll take it with an open mind."
No words came out from my lips so instead, I responded quickly with a nod. Dad draws me closer to him and hugs me tightly. I heard him let out a sigh like he is going to be sorry with whatever he is about to do or say. Right after, he cupped my cheeks and kissed my forehead.
"Dad, what's wrong? You are scaring me."
"Let's sit down" he instructed which I immediately obliged.
"Do you need us to go out?" Mrs. Anne asks. She leans forward and carefully lifts my sister's resting head from her lap to the soft pillows with both of her hands.
"That would be better.. and Arthur, keep both of these ladies safe." Dad commands. He sounded so authoritative.
"Leave them to me... but you have to do your part too." Mr. Stones replied calmly. I watched him effortlessly carry Elizabeth while Mrs. Anne quickly fixes the area of the bed where my twin laid.
Now, that I am alone with Dad, I can't think of anything to start the conversation.
'Can you hear me?'
I thought it was weird that he had to ask that question. There is nobody else in the room and no noise is coming from the outside.
"Yes Dad. Why are you whispering though?" I asked anyways despite of my mind's contradiction.
'I am not whispering Sophia.'
'You need to listen attentively.'
In my attempt to cancel out any distractions and to prove his point, I closed my eyes.
"I can now hear you better Dad" I commented after pausing for a couple of seconds.
'Great! Now open your eyes and observe my mouth'
'Do.not.freak.out'
"OH MY GOD!" I screamed. Like a switch, I leaped backwards... but unable to anticipate where I would land, I hit my lower back at the edge of the wooden bedside table and so I stumbled forward and landed on my knees.
"Honey are you okay?" Dad asks. He stretches out his arms in his concern.
"NO. NO. DAD, TELL ME IT'S NOT WHAT I SAW!"
"Sophia, honey. You saw it right. This is not a nightmare or your imagination or some kind of trick. This is me.. but I'm still your Dad."
"AS FAR AS I KNOW... DADS SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TALK EVEN WITHOUT ACTUALLY SPEAKING!"
I still feel tense all over my body. I already forgot the pain on my back and the bruise on my knees. The only reason why I have not run away to this point is because he is my Dad.
"Sophia, do you still remember the story I told you about the Angels on Earth?" he asks suddenly. He sits back to the sofa clenching his fist while his head is bowed down.
"Vividly Dad"
"Well, I remember you were so enthusiastic while listening to my stories. Specially when it's about these beings. You ask questions where answers I did not know about. You describe your dreams and it was amazing how much details you were able to remember. You were just seven but I saw so much potential in you."
I see droplets of tears fell down from his eyes. I never witnessed Dad this emotional and vulnerable.
"Dad.."
"Honey.. it pains me but it's time. From the day you were born, I have acknowledged you as my daughter. I tried to so hard to hide your true identity thinking that it will keep you safe but I was just selfish. It was foolish of me to think I could undo what is already written and destined to be your path. Please forgive me."
"What are you talking about Dad?!"
"I AM DERICK RAZIEL MCMILLAN. A 7th Generation Descendant of RAZIEL, THE ARCHANGEL OF WISDOM FOR BOTH PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL REALM... and I am one of your Guardian Angels."
"Wha.." I felt blank.
"You Sophia, is more special than you think."
"WHO THE HELL AM I?"
