Chapter 15 - Chapter Fifteen - Under One Condition

"Come back here tommorow if you wish to find out" the young lady laughed in a playful manner and ushered Yue Chen out.

For some reason Yue Chen felt this young lady was toying with him and couldn't help but become irritated "are you messing with me?"

"And if I am, can you stop me?" the playful tone suddenly became cold and a chilling air surrounded Yue Chen.

The piercing aura that the lady gave off made Yue Chen's head spin and his eyes constantly lost focus. Clenching his fist Yue Chen broke into cold sweat due to the terrifying killing intent that was focused on him.

Suddenly the killing intent vanished completely alleviating Yue Chen of the immense pressure.

"Haha come back tomorrow, don't be impatient" laughing as if nothing had happened the young lady started pour herself a cup of tea.

"....." Yue Chen was speechless at how quick this woman flipped faces but didn't dare to say anything out loud.

"Don't come here too early, I need my beauty sleep" as Yue Chen left the young lady's voice travelled to his ear.

"Tch had I been able to cultivate I would spank you to death!" Yue Chen thought to himself while leaving the Inn.

"Mm don't trust that woman, her elemental qi surpasses and counters yours" the eerie voice that had refused to speak as of recent had voluntarily started a conversation, surprising Yue Chen.

"And why should I listen to you?" Yue Chen thought suddenly.

"The moment you let your guard down that woman will strike you down!" the voice rang in Yue Chen's ears in it's naturally etching tone.

.....

After Yue Chen had left the Xie Yuxin continued to drink her tea with a pleased expression. "What do you think, is he the convergence point?"

A slim man appeared from the shadow as if he had previously been fused with it and swiftly appeared at the lady's side.

"My knowledge is inferior to that of the madam's but I do not think such a pitiful child could be the convergence point, his life force is less than that of a commoner and he seems to be stuck at the Nascent level, surely madam Xie has someone else in mind?"

Madam Xie nodded in response and returned the tea cup to the table. "The boy is of a pure heart, it is evident his kindness still remains after facing such a devastating setback. He isn't the person we are looking for" glancing at the place Yue Chen had sat Madam Xie's lips curled into a smile. "Three Sinners in a single location nearing the time of the conflict of empires. Is it merely a coincidence?"

.....

Yue Chen's mind was in a state of confusion after hearing what the voice had told him. If possible he would also rather to steer clear of that evil woman. Now that he had heard his family might still exist Yue Chen was intent on heading to the Eastern sea. His only fear was his lack of strength that could drive him to his death.

After loitering around the city square for almost an hour Yue Chen returned home and sat beneath the comforting shade of the gigantic tree. Pulling out his handmade flute Yue Chen began to play. Closing his eyes he slowly entered a realm of his own. Images foreign to him started to pop up in his head.

There was a little boy who a strangely shaped object. He seemed about 7 or 8 years of age. The boy wore rags of a beggar and had a scowl in his face. It was obvious he was at the bottom of society.

"Brother Chen!" spotting the defenseless Yue Chen who had immersed himself in music Little Gila threw herself on him, bringing him back to reality.

"Gasp"

Struggling to breathe, Yue Chen squinted while beads of sweat flowed down his face. The fields around him as well as Little Gila became hazy and distorted. His strength was slowly draining.

When Yue Chen came to Doctor Jia was already kneeling next to him doing a complete scan.

"Didn't I tell you not to use qi? are you courting death!?" glaring at Yue Chen icily Doctor Jia reprimanded him harshly.

"....." Yue Chen was speechless. He knew the risks of using his qi and refrained from using it. To think he had unknowingly summoned his qi that almost cost him his life Yue Chen smiled awkwardly.

"You still have the gall to smile?" Doctor Jia grabbed at Yue Chen's waist an performed a perfect 360 degree turn.

Yue Chen grimaced feeling wronged. He would never intentionally seek his own death. This was merely a misunderstanding of the sort.

"Can you stand?" Doctor Jia asked and helped Yue Chen up.

"I'm fine" Yue Chen stood upright, indicating he didn't need help to walk.

"Don't overdo yourself" Doctor Jia moved closer to Yue Chen.

"I said I'm fine! stop making me look so helpless!" Yue Chen suddenly flared. "Uh.." his sudden outburst had surprised even himself.

"Your so stubborn!" Doctor Jia lifted her hand above Yue Chen's head, ready to pass on judgement.

"Mom" Li Li who heard the commotion rushed out, shaking her head, telling her mother to leave him be.

"I'm sorry, I overreacted" Yue Chen wiped the sweat from his face and rested his back against the tree.

Looking at the worried expression of the two Yue Chen exhaled heavily and took out his flute. After a slight hesitation he placed it against his lips and started to play once more.

Unlike the song he had played two years ago the sound of the flute was of a lively nature and gave one the impression of a time of spring and joy. As his fingers danced along the holes the rhythm and tempo changed, the spring was slowly turning to winter and the Yue Chen began to emanate a desolate feeling. Suddenly the music came to a stop.

Both ladies looked at Yue Chen in confusion, wondering why he had suddenly stopped playing.

"I'm going back into town" Yue Chen stood up and a spark of determination flashed in his eyes.

The two chose not to question him, thinking he still needed some more time to cool off.

Yue Chen walked along the dusty road that led to the village while thinking about the little boy he had just seen as well as his sudden outburst.

Within half an hour Yue Chen had made his way back to the entrance of the inn. He immediately pushed the door open and consulted the receptionist.

"The Guest that is staying in room 604 is currently out, would you like to wait or leave a message?" the receptionist asked with her professional signature smile.

"I'll wait then" Yue Chen stated without hesitation.

"Please follow me"

Yue Chen nodded and followed the receptionist. Unlike the first visit the receptionist did not bring Yue Chen to the second floor but instead to a passage that stood at the end of the room. Soon Yue Chen came upon a spacious room that was about the size of a basketball court decorated in red clothes with phoenixes woven of golden thread. In the center of the room stood two large tables made completely of Fine Jade and was flawless at a glance.

After leading Yue Chen in the receptionist returned to her station once more.

Yue Chen sat patiently in the Main hall, after what seemed like a lifetime an elderly man entered the room and slowly sat next to Yue Chen.

"Young Man, I can tell that you're special. You give off a unique energy. How about I gift you an item" the old man said with a gentle smile, shuffling in his clothes for something.

"Hm?" Yue Chen had seen the elderly man entered the building but had chosen to ignore him until he had decided to spark a conversation. "An item you say?"

"Yes,yes, yes I'll give you a Destiny Changing Pill, only, I require a small fee" the elderly man's smile became wider once he had successfully caught Yue Chen's attention.

"Get lost old man" Yue Chen kicked back and shook his head. He wasn't about to be scammed by some con artist.

"Y-young man, have you no respect for your elders!" the elderly man frowned and withdrew his hands from his clothes.

"What elderly? All I see is an old fart trying to scam an innocent youth" Yue Chen snickered and turned away.

While ignoring the elderly man's protest for the next two hours Yue Chen sat quietly and patiently waited on the young woman.

"Father" a seductive voice travelled into the room causing Yue Chen to turn in it's direction.

A young woman who seemed no older than 30 years old walked into the room slowly.

"My Xie'er" the elderly man sitting next to Yue Chen stood up with an upset expression and sighed.

Realized her father's distress the young woman asked with curiosity "is something wrong father?"

The elderly man then explained how Yue Chen had refused his goodwill and had even insulted him.

The young woman turned to Yue Chen angrily and said "Yue Chen! you come here to ask for my help yet dare disregard my father!?"

Upon hearing her words Yue Chen immediately realized who the young woman was. It was none other than the person he had come looking for!

Seeing Yue Chen's flabbergasted look the young woman's anger didn't subside but instead increased "well what? do you need something? if not don't waste our time"

"Uh...do you have a know of any methods to fix Life Containers?" Yue Chen hesitated but decided to finally say what he came for.

"Life Containers? Indeed I do know of few such methods." the young woman pondered while tilting her head upward with a thinking posture.

Hearing there was a method to treat his illness Yue Chen's extinguished hope suddenly reignited.

"I'll give you the treatment method free of charge, but under one condition" a sinister smile spread across her face as the young woman spoke her last words.
