"Katherine." His voice caught my attention and my eyes moved in response to look at him. "I would never harm you." He cleared.
His voice was forthright, genuine and honest. There was no amusement and no frustration in his tone. Each and every word held a note of authenticity. I could feel myself putting a little trust in him. Maybe I might have misjudged him since the beginning. I felt the guilt tear me from inside out.
"I---I am---" I began to speak but my words trailed off.
Dark hair flipped down and landed on his forehead. Our eyes latched together ignoring the rest of the world. My thoughts dissolved and just like that, a new thought broke the surface of my mind.
I wanted to kiss him. Right now. Right here.
Lucas arched his eyebrows. "What?"
"Uh nothing--- Nothing at all." I looked away from those bewitching eyes of his.
