Dustin told me the reason why he was in my house with his personal belongings in his hands.
I already knew who it was before he even said the name.
Hermione.
I don't know why I was still surprised when he said that.
I told him he could crash at my house, until things were clear at his.
When my parents came back from work, I told them the entire thing and they were more than happy to accommodate him.
Maybe a little too happy.
Two weeks later after all of the shenanigans. Dustin was still trying to live like us and not like him. It wasn't easy but I know he will get the hang of it pretty soon. I mean, he woke up on a Saturday and the first thing he did was throw all the trashes in the rooms. My parents were proud. I was proud.
On Wednesday at school, after I had ignored glares from Hermione and her squad and told Dustin to hold himself together, I went to my locker.
And was surprised to see a piece of paper fall out.
I picked it up and scrutinized with my eyes.
Please don't tell me this is one of those cliche romance moments when I open the paper and then doves fly out and a live Mexican orchestra starts to play.
I opened the paper and was pleased to see none of assumptions were correct but was also surprised to see this.
Tracy,
I am guessing you are super early.
Meet us behind the school cafeteria.
Okay, who could this be?
The idiot didn't even sign off his name.
Carrying my notes for the day, I walked outside the school to find out whoever needed my attention behind the school cafeteria.
Why am I even going?
The fresh air of soon to come autumn slapped my face and I happily inhaled whatever it was giving me.
Just as I was making a turn that will lead me to the back of the school, then the cafeteria, I heard arguments.
Like arguments that would soon turn to a fight.
Those kind of arguments.
I don't know what came over me, but all I know is that I followed the sound of the arguments.
My legs finally led me to the end of the school parking lot. And I saw a black Mercedes Benz with four guys inside. A black one at the wheel, a blonde behind him, a brunet beside him and a red head behind the brunet.
From where I was, I could hear their misunderstanding and see their hair color, but I could not make out their words or try to put a face to them.
I walked closer and hid behind a trash can. From where I was, I could definitely distinguish their voice, hear their argument and also put a face to them.
It was the four new kids that had suddenly become popular overnight.
Caesar, Fred, Clark and Jayden.
And what they were saying was beyond shocking and life changing.
Infact, that was the day my life changed.
-*-
I know, I know. Late update and small chapter.
Don't worry, I'm just messing with ya.
Carry on.
-*-
I stuck my head out of the trash can and started eavesdropping.
"So what do we tell Brady when we enter the school?" a small voice, I'm guessing Jayden, asked.
"I have no fucking idea. You know, I blame Fred." a gruffer voice, obviously Clark's, said.
"Why me?" Fred asked.
"Because you were the one who told that numb skull that we were going to a club." Caesar's monotonous voice said.
"Well, he invited us to a party that I am sure you all didn't want to go. What was I supposed to do? Hug him and say yes?"
"No," Clark said dragging the O. "But you could have hugged him and told him 'No'. It's that easy."
"Then why didn't you say it?"
"Because, you slapped my chest from intervening and opened your black mouth."
"Don't you bring my color into this."
"Can you stop being fucking Martin Luther King? I wasn't being racist. What are the color of your lips?"
"Black."
"Right. So do you want me to be 'racist' or insultive. Will beef lips have worked for you?"
"Why can't we just tell them the truth?" Jayden asked.
"That we are virgins? No fucking way. Remember what happened in Colorado?"
I blinked processing what Clark just said.
What?
The four most popular boys in my school, overnight by the way, are VIRGINS?
Oh my God!
No, freaking, way.
I turned around and walked briskly away, momentarily forgetting about the person who requested to see me at the back of the school.
While I power walked away, I did not know when Jayden looked outside the car window and saw my brown hair and white satin top.
When I got to class, I saw Dustin already sitted. There were five empty seats and luckily, there was an empty one right in front of him. I walked there and slapped my bag on the ground.
"Hey, what's wrong?" he whispered.
"Hmm? Oh nothing." I said rather breathlessly.
"Really? Because you look like you just saw Ghost Rider. I was wondering where you were by the way. One minute you were here, the next you were gone."
"Sorry. Someone wanted to see me at the back of the cafeteria."
"And you went? Why would anyone want to see anybody at the back of the school cafeteria? Why couldn't they see you in the hallway?"
Three questions I could never answer.
Maybe Dustin is smarter than I thought.
I arranged my pen beside my notebook and was already putting a few words into my head when the bell rang.
Almost as if on time, the door opened and Miss Lawrence entered the classroom with her gigantic, bigger-than-life briefcase. She dropped her briefcase and grabbed a chalk to start writing on the board. She wrote the subject, Physics on top of the board.
"Hello everyone. How was your night?"
Trust the young teachers to be full of life.
"It was fine."
"Wonderful. Now let's begin from where we left off. Can anyone tell me where we left off?"
Just as she said that, the door opened and four bodies entered the classroom.
The entire class gasped.
You are never late to Miss Lawrence's class. She might be all flowers and butterflies, but if there are two thing she hates in the world, that will be interruptions and latecomers.
And she doesn't give a damn if you are the governor's child.
These four people are no exception.
"And where might you four be coming from?"
"From our homes." Clark answered.
She also hates smart jackasses.
"And why are you late?"
Before Clark could open his mouth, Jayden intervened, "I forgot to set my alarm clock and well, Fred was waiting for me to get ready."
"Yeah. And it takes hours for Jayjay to get ready." Fred interrupted. She directed her glare at him and he gulped.
"Is that true Caesar?"
The blond boy only gave her a steel gaze before nodding his head.
"Answer me when I'm talking to you." she yelled, making Fred, Clark and Jayden jump.
"Yes." he said in a cold voice.
"Well, let this be the first and the last time you come late to my class or be a jackass," she directed the last one to Clark. "Or not open your mouth when I ask a question." that was focused on Caesar. "Take your seat."
The four of them took the remaining four seats and sat down.
Miss Lawrence breathed deeply before facing us with a smile and asking, "well, shall we continue?"
