Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: G-rank+ Quest

Today, we wanted to rest for the entire day; as nobody wanted to any quests. Osiric said that we were ready for a G-rank+ Quest, the highest level quest a G-ranker can do.

These quests generally took 4 G-ranker+ - or the people who are level 25-30 - to do it, and even then it will take them a week or so, they also would suffer from injuries - and is some cases even fatalities.

We, on the other hand, didn't have to worry about it. Osiric himself was strong as a Mid F-ranker, while Emma and I were as strong as Low F-rankers, but if you only count our magic, then we were Mid F-ranker as well.

It would be a breeze for us.

"Let's go to the guild." Emma asked us.

Me and Osiric looked at each other and thought about if for a while, with the guild card it was pointless for us to into the guild unless we wanted to take back our rewards due to card system.

So we looked at her, confused.

"Tyler, you may be a loner, but we should increase our connections as well you know. I mean if Osiric was somehow hurt very badly, or we had a massive problems on our hands, we should have some people that will be ready to help us." she answered, the thing she said made a little sense; but still, Osiric getting hurt that badly would probably be our fault and any massive problem would probably get solved by him.

Though, I still think it should be better to build up connections so that we can get a little edge, wait a minute, aren't some for our classmates also staying in this city?

If we build up friendship with them, if they aren't like that rat bastard I can do it pretty easily, we can have some edge as well. It would also be helpful since Osiric said that there are many things even he doesn't know and that even our appraisal skill won't help us, so its for the best that we explored a lot.

People, especially the ones from the guild, were very selfish. They didn't let anyone, except for the people close to them, find out the information they had discovered. Especially at higher ranks, when you start to be immortal and won't have to worry about the information being lost.

The more I thought about it, the more benefits I could see. We can also get some more friends and actually not be considered weird for once.

"Sure, let's do it." I answered, after I had answered Osiric also said yes.

"Ok, so today, our mission is to find someone we would want to friends with. Osiric you can do you thing." Emma said as she looked at Osiric.

What Emma was thinking was Osiric's ability to find a person's character. Osiric can easily tell if a person's lying or not - though Emma's law was better at finding lies, can they be trusted or not, or will they be allies or not.

...

"Let's give up, ok." Osiric said as he smiled, probably to cheer us up.

We were ignored by all our classmates, heck, even the normal adventurers ignored us. I had gotten so angry that I had challenged one of my classmates entire party to a match.

Obviously, Osiric and Emma let me do it, since if they didn't I would probably start attacking them in public. Since, we all share the similar bad temper.

The battle took place, and I wiped the dust with them, literally and figuratively. I had to fight against a warrior, tank, mage, and healer. It was a balanced party, though all of them were barely half my level. The only one who gave me a little challenge was Brad, who was a warrior, he even had a law - Osiric said he had.

Though, I made him taste the ground within a second. I also used my white steel spear which I had been carrying to knock him out. I was moving faster than sound, so nobody could even react to me.

I ended the fight in about 10 seconds, Osiric and Emma congratulated me, but also gave a wry smile. Emma then healed everyone and apologized to them.

Osiric did that as well, he and Emma made do it as well; so I had to do it, since I was still angry I didn't do it properly.

"Yeah, I agree with you. If we tried to make a friend we will be way behind schedule." Emma answered.

We had decided to become F-rankers within this month, that will help us very much. It would also make normal adventurers talk to us again and not be creeped out.

"I agree." I added.

"Fine, so how about this." Osiric said as he clicked on his card.

I and Emma looked at our card, more specifically, we looked at the quest tab.

The quest Osiric had chosen was an escort quest, it was pretty simple. Just escort a merchant through the lower levels of the dark wood.

It would take about 4 days for us to complete the quest, the reward was 5,000 exp and 10 gold coins.

It would be big boost in power for us, and it would easy as well.

Dark wood is a massive forest, it was on the north of Libert. The forest's was very dangerous, since even in it's lower levels there would be low-elementary class monsters, sometimes even high ones. In its higher levels, or when you go deeper into it. You can even find Master, heck, someone had even found a low saint class monster, or a monster that only B-rankers could handle.

Since we are going from the low leveled part, we would be alright; since even the strongest monster you could find there were high elementary, and Osiric and us could fight toe-to-toe with a mid intermediate class monster, or a monster about 100x times stronger than a high elementary class.

"Let's do it!" before I could answer Emma replied, I then said, "It's the same with me."

"Ok, let's accept this quest now." Osiric said as I accepted the quest, due to me being the party leader.

And that's how we accepted our first G-rank+ quest.
