Gabby looked up and gave Billy a warm smile. Seeing it, Billy felt his cheeks warm up too. He swallowed his saliva then lowered his head.
"I'm fine, thanks," Gabby answered.
"Ah, sure! You don't need to thank me," Billy said.
"Then I'll go first, okay?" Gabby said.
"Hey wait," Billy grabbed Gabby by the wrist. "Can't you stay for a while?"
Hearing that made Gabby blink a few times. Didn't she say thank you earlier? What else did Billy want from her now?
"I helped you earlier, now you have to keep your promise," Billy said with a serious look.
"...What?" Gabby let go of Billy's hand. "I didn't ask you to help me! So why do I have to keep the fake promise?"
"I want you to be my boss and the only member of this gang is me," Billy whined, the boy's voice sounded like a baby to Gabby's ears.
"I don't wanna—"
"You have to!" Billy interrupted.
