Amelia realized that Gabby and Stefan had been looking at her. The woman smiled mockingly then looked back at Michael. As the boy was trying to pick up a book on the top shelf himself, suddenly Amalia had an idea.
"What if you lift me on your shoulder so I can pick up the books?" Amelia walked over and took Michael's arm.
Michael looked away then gave Amelia a cold look, "Can you let your hand go? It's not that cheap drama or soap opera you always watch, anyway."
"Oh." Amelia bit her lower lip and then took her hand off Michael's arm.
"Anyway, I can really take this book." Michael replied as he picked up the book that was on the top shelf by himself without tiptoeing.
The boy took the remaining two books and put them in Amelia's hand without looking at her face. He then fixed his uniform, "It's done, right?"
Amelia smiled broadly as she nodded her head, "Thank you! Then I'm waiting for you here. We'll just go to class together."
