Chapter 38 - Do you want to swim or not?

Michael opened his eyes and pushed Gabby's body, "Get up! Your father is here."

Gabby wiped her eyes, turned and looked at her father who was standing by the door. Her father's blushing made Gabby think it must be hot today.

"Why is father here?" Gabby sat on the bed and yawned.

Daniel was relieved when he saw his daughter was still wearing clothes, "Dad is here to tell you that breakfast is ready. I specially cooked seafood noodles for you."

Suddenly, Gabby could feel her stomach tremble, then she grabbed her stomach as she got out of bed, "Let's eat then."

Gabby looked for Michael's hand under the covers and then grabbed it. Michael couldn't help but get out of bed and join them for breakfast.

But when he saw Gabby's father's face as if he wanted to eat him alive, Michael let go of Gabby's hand, "You just go ahead. I still have to go to the bathroom."

"What do you want to do?" Gabby asked.

Daniel took over their conversation and grabbed Gabby's hand, "Men need to take care of their own problems. You don't need to ask anything weird, let him go to the bathroom."

Michael saw Gabby and her father coming out of his room. The man closed the door to his room then walked to the bathroom to wash his face.

-

"Gabby, I need to ask you important questions." Daniel stopped his steps in the middle of the living room, "Did Michael force you to sleep with him last night?"

Gabby folded her arms across her chest, "Okay, daddy's question doesn't make sense."

"Just answer it!" Daniel sighed.

"No, last night I forgot to give Michael the mosquito repellent lotion so I went to his room. Since I felt sleepy I fell asleep there." Gabby explained at length.

Daniel tried to believe his daughter's words. He then grabbed Gabby's shoulder, "Then you have to promise daddy not to sleep with Michael again."

Gabby shook her head, "No promises. Michael is a nice person to sleep with." The girl realized her choice of words was incorrect, "I mean! I mean it's warm so he's kind of like a personal blanket."

"He's a boy and you are a girl! How can you sleep with a man when you are not married yet!" Daniel took his grip off Gabby's shoulder.

"After all, we're getting married, aren't we?" Gabby frowned.

"What ..." Daniel could not continue his words, could not believe what was said by his daughter.

Gabby waved her hand, "Come on, I'm hungry." The girl walked away from her father.

"Where did I go wrong..." Daniel shook his head and followed Gabby from behind. The man promised to put a lot of mosquito repellent in his daughter's room and Michael's room. Just watch out if they slept together again!

-

After breakfast, Gabby wanted to take Michael on a walk around her father's fishing ground. Daniel wanted to stay with them at first, to make sure Michael didn't take another chance. It's just that Daniel was busy today, lots of work piling up on his desk.

This made Gabby walk with Michael with just the two of them. The girl's left hand was carrying her straw hat, while her right hand was holding Michael's.

"It's the biggest pool here." Gabby pointed to one of the pools. The pool was surrounded by large trees. A raft of ducks were seen swimming on it. Not far from there, Michael could see an employee casting a net.

If he walked closer, Michael could even see fish that he didn't recognize. The air there was very cool, every breath he took felt like cleaning and refreshing his heart.

Not far from where they were standing, Michael could see Aunt Shelly was sitting and playing with her cellphone. Since morning, she grumbled because her husband couldn't accompany her on vacation here.

"Hey, do you want to swim here?" Gabby whispered in Michael's ear.

"Swimming?!" Michael saw the pond again. There were fish in the pond and maybe shrimp. Had Gabby lost her mind?

"Are you crazy? It's dangerous to swim here!" Michael shook his head.

Michael couldn't imagine if he was swimming in this pool. What if a fish suddenly got into his shirt or pants?

Gabby chuckled, "Don't be too scared! It's fun to swim with fish."

"I invited you here because I wanted to swim." Gabby continued.

"You really don't want to go swimming?" Gabby asked one more time.

Michael shook his head seriously, "Hey, don't you think there are dangerous fish in the pond?"

"I know!" Gabby looked away and looked at the pool, "But the atmosphere is perfect for swimming."

The girl didn't wait for Michael's reply and ran toward the pool. Just as she was about to throw herself on the water, Gabby heard her name being called.

"Gabby!" Shelly walked over, "This is your mom wanting a video call!"

"Dang it!" Gabby whispered. She straightened her hair then turned her body before walking towards her aunt. She could see her mother's face on her aunt's cell phone screen.

"Hello mom!" Gabby greeted and tried to smile.

Agnes frowned, "You're not causing trouble, are you?" Her eyes scanned Gabby's body from head to toe.

"Gosh, you don't believe me, do you?" Gabby folded her arms across her chest, "If you don't believe it, just ask Aunt Shelly."

Shelly bit her lower lip, not knowing what to say. The woman suddenly remembered when Gabby was two years old she had filled her drinking bottle with water from the pond. And to make matters worse, the girl told her father to drink the water.

"Eh, well I mean she hasn't done anything." Shelly looked at her cell phone's screen.

Agnes narrowed her eyes, feeling something was wrong. But the woman didn't say anything, she looked back at Gabby, "Mommy will catch up with you in a few days." Agnes put her hand under her chin, "Where's Michael anyway? I want to talk to him for a moment."

"Mother wants to come here?!" Gabby's eyes widened but the girl quickly turned her cell phone screen towards Michael, "Michael! My mom wants to talk for a moment!"

Agnes looked at her future son-in-law with emotion. Michael was crouching and sticking the tip of his index finger into the fish pond. Next to Michael was Nara who faithfully accompanied him.

'Hahh, luckily he will be my future son-in-law, he's handsome and innocent too.' Agnes muttered inwardly.

Michael turned his head when he felt his name called. He saw Gabby's mother's face on the screen of the cell phone. The boy then quickly stood up and straightened his jeans. Arriving in front of the cell phone that Gabby was holding, Michael lowered his head.

"Hello auntie," Michael smiled, "How are you?"

"Auntie is fine." Agnes smiled back at Michael. The woman felt like she loved Michael more than her own child, "Auntie will catch up with you in a few days. Please take care of Gabby, don't let her cause trouble."

"Of course, auntie." Michael nodded his head.

After that, Agnes looked at Gabby and said that there was still work piling up. Not long after that, the woman hung up on her call and Gabby returned the cellphone to her aunt.

Gabby turned and glared at Michael, she pointed at the boy's chest, "Don't you dare report to my mom! Do you understand?"

"Yes as long as you don't cause trouble." Michael lowered Gabby's hand, "I'm not going to tell your mother."

"Shut up," Gabby pursed her lips, "Alright I won't cause trouble, my dear husband."

After saying that, Gabby left Michael and ran towards Nara. The girl was determined to have fun before her mother came here. Maybe later when her mother came she would not be able to spend her vacation in peace because of her mother's constant scolding.

-

"Michael, you really don't want to swim?" Gabby asked after lunch, the woman then sat on Michael's bed.

Michael sighed for the thousandth time today. He turned off the screen of his cell phone then looked at Gabby, "How many times do I have to tell you that fish pond is dangerous?"

"What's the danger? How come the fish will bite our legs?" Gabby frowned.

"The point is don't swim in the fish pond." Michael returned to playing the game on his cellphone, "If you want, ask your aunt to take you to the public swimming pool tomorrow. They'll definitely allow you."

Gabby rolled her eyes, "You're such a boring person, you know?"

Michael didn't listen and stayed focused on playing games on his cellphone.

"You're acting like an old man! How old are you?" Gabby chuckled irritably, "Anyway, the fish pond I mean isn't a pond with fish! And also I've been swimming in that pool before."

Gabby stood up from her bed, "Fine if you don't want to come. Have fun in this boring room!" The girl left the room and slammed the door.

"Hey, wait for me!" Michael jolted out of bed.
