Chapter 16 - Unexpected Alliance

The seemingly endless stream of specimen 2187 after about half an hour of constantly eating had come to an end, and the god quickly looked at its newfound status. (I will not lie; I had to pull out a calculator for this, and I admit even though I nerfed it by a lot, it just came out to this. You will never know the horror I had to do)

The god looks down at its newfound stats before suddenly vibrating, causing the entire hallway to rumble due to its sheer weight and size before forcibly stopping itself from accidentally breaking the hallway. The only question that was on its mind was 'how many of those things were there?'

Its entire body fills up the hallway almost 20ft in the length of the hallway it was in from top to bottom, even spanning 30 ft and the sides spanning 40 feet. Numerous eyes and mouths were constantly forming and informing as it tried to get its bearings on its new size it noticed that the little Minion was coming down the hallway having grown much more significant and have many more eyes and mouths than before, thinking, 'oh no, I still need to come up with a name!'

Having to be in constant life and death situations made it completely unable even to have a moment to name it looking for any ideas when suddenly, like a spark of fortune, it spat all the equipment opposite from where the Minion was coming from. 'Come on there has to be some inspiration for a name' it thought as the Minion was getting closer and closer seemingly jumping for joy.

Extreme guilt was washing over it using three tendrils constantly shifting through the equipment, trying to find some inspiration for a name. 'Hurry up. You fool, you have to think of something fast' pushing around weapons and explosives, strands of clothing, and name tags. It couldn't find anything original.

Time was running out as the Minion pulled itself down the hallway, getting bigger and bigger as the seconds passed. Cursing at its intelligence stats, 'Aren't I suppose to be smarter? Why can't I think of a name for the little guy? Come on!' exasperated at its current circumstance.

Just then, I saw a name tag with a name it liked Crone. The god, seemingly praying that the Minion would like the name, suddenly heard the mental signals as it could now hear the thought 'Creator! Creator! I brought you back something cool!'

The god, still nervous but doing everything in its power not to show it began talking back, 'really let's see what you have, little one.' Keeping many of its eyes on it while also looking for anything else that could attack them.

The little one then spat out two people almost completely uninjured before the little one jumps up and down like an overactive puppy. The god quickly responded as it spoke highly. 'Good job, you have brought back two of them for me. I thank you very much.' Quickly forming a tendril getting ready to eat the little morsels in front of it before one of them screamed, "Do you want to get out of here!?"

The god and the little one stops in surprise at this before the other one shouts, "We can't let this thing leave here alive!"

Hearing this, the little one stops shaking before angrily opening its mouth, ready to bite the man to pieces when the god told it, 'wait, hold the one who wants him dead and keep the other one out.'

Doing as it is told, it retracts its teeth before letting pushing the man into its mouth.

Instead of moving forward, the god made a gesture curling the tip a few times as if gesturing to the human to speak.

Catching on quickly, she began to say, "We know a pathway to get out of here, but there are many monstrous creatures in here, some of which are even more threatening than those insect things in here if you are willing to spare me and the people with us we will show you a safer way out."

The god quickly thought about this for a few minutes' If I eat them, I could get a few skills that could help me out, but if I don't, they could help me find a way out of here, and I won't have to search and fight my way out. Short term benefits or long term benefits?'

The Minion, still listening in on this, then gives it an opinion. 'sorry to interrupt, but why not have them show the way out, and then you can always eat them once you escape? I don't know what a skill is, but you should still be able to get it.'

The god then looked at the little one before saying, 'Good idea, Crone, are there any more survivors you know of?'

The little one quickly jumps up and down 'Crone, is that my name?' seemingly excited it hopes about in what could only be in high expectations.

Still feeling bad for not coming up with a good name for it, the god quickly says, 'yes, that is your name, congratulations.'

The little one shouts with sheer joy as it quickly spewed the man out, 'don't worry about anything, creator, I will bring the survivors back to you!' before happily going down the hallway faster than when it was coming down.

'annnd he's gone.' The god looked exasperated as Crone seemed to have decided for itself. Looking down at the man looking at their comrade, he said in a low menacing tone, "what did you do?"

The soldier it was speaking to with a shaking voice responded, "I think I got us a ticket out of here."

The man quickly looks at the mound of writhing flesh before taking out a hidden pistol and aiming it at it.

At that moment, time seemed to have slowed down considerably as the god formed a mouth at the tendril it was using for gestures. In less than a second, it ate both arms of the man.

The man then screams in agony as blood started oozing out of his arms before the other soldier takes out something that produces a flame burning the open wounds sealing them shut.

[Host has eaten foreign biomass +16 max]

[Host has gained new skill strategizing level 1- when in a calm state of mind, Host's problem-solving skills increase by 5%]

The god pleased at learning it didn't have to eat the whole person to gain a skill, looked down at the two people before thinking, 'I wonder if they are going to be able to last long enough to show the way out?'
